How To Become A Target ModelTarget likely won’t ask you to model just because you are walking around one of their stores. You’ll need to go through official channels and apply for a position to work with Target as a model. Before you apply, you’ll have to sort out a few modeling items to give yourself the best chance of success.
Get A PortfolioYou’ll need a strong portfolio of images to present both to your agency and Target. Your selection of images should reflect the type of job you are looking to get. Take a moment to look through a Target ad and craft some similar images with your photographer to capture the same feel.
Your social media accounts will also serve as an online portfolio. The best places to have content online are YouTube and Instagram. All 3 will be called on during a photo shoot. You’ll need to be able to smile for a long time so working those muscles ahead of time will be helpful.
Have An Agency Represent YouAn agency can inform you of opportunities that you wouldn’t otherwise hear about on your own. Our advice is to team up with a local agency close to you and let them know what you are looking for and which types of jobs you want to audition for.
You should ask for names of other models represented by the agency. It is easy then to go the social media of the represented models and see if they are getting any work. If the models you’ve been given by the agency are only posting personal pictures and nothing from jobs it is because the agency isn’t able to get them anything.
Be careful vetting agencies and look closely at what they are offering you. It is usually better to walk away if an agency is asking you to pay for pictures or sign up for classes. This just means they don’t have the ability to get you jobs so they charge you. A normal agency will make their money as a commission percentage of your paycheck. This is a standard procedure. If the agency doesn’t get you any jobs they won’t make any money. Agencies without access to jobs are known to charge new models for extras to make their money.
How Much Money Does A Target Model MakeTarget models are paid a day rate which usually runs from $100 to $400 per day. Experienced models who are on an all day assignment will make more than a first time model. Most clothing and fashion models make a living by doing a variety of modeling jobs, which can add up to a salary of $60,000 per year on average if they are working full time. Top in demand models will command well over $100,000 per year.
What Is A Photo Shoot Like At TargetA photo shoot with Target will be fun but it will be a long day. Who wouldn’t want to model for a company that’s so popular, 97 percent of all Americans recognize its high-profile red and white logo? The Minneapolis-based company is an acknowledged leader in trend-setting, selling fashions from high-end designers at affordable prices. Like Sears, Target uses all types of models to market its proprietary and non-proprietary fashion lines, so men, women and children of all ages and sizes can find a place on this company’s innovative advertising campaigns.
Assess your personality. Good cheekbones are great, but clothing models need plenty of patience and stamina, as it takes hours to get exactly the look the marketers at Target are seeking. As for body size, you will find a home at Target where Liz Lange Maternity and plus-size styles share plenty of floor space with regular sizes. You don't need to be a size 0 to model for Target.
Have a professional photographer shoot head and full-body photos for your model’s composite. Commercial photographers can be expensive, but you’ll save a bundle if you book an appointment with a mall photographer. Bring with you Target magazine and newspaper ads to show the photographer what you want to achieve. Bring along several clothing changes and make certain each outfit matches the Target style. Have the images in .JPG format, put them on a CD or DVD.
Create a model’s composite. If you know your way around computer software, set up an 8.5-by-11 inch landscape (horizontal) document. Import or embed at least five photos from the disk to the composite layout. Ask friends to pick the most flattering shot in the bunch, and make it the largest on the page. The benefit of doing the composite yourself is that you can update it with new photos frequently. Add vital data to the composite by dragging or inserting a text box into the layout and typing this information into the box: Your name, contact information, height, weight, shoe and clothing size. Once you sign with an agent, their phone number will appear on the sheet.
Assemble a portfolio of enlarged prints. Any type of presentation portfolio with removable pages of protective acetate sleeves will do. This repository is the tool that sells clients, agents and others once they've seen your composite. As your career grows, update the portfolio with tear sheets from publications in which you appear.
Get an agent. As a rule of thumb, ignore agents making too many promises and those who ask for up-front money. Reputable modeling agencies don’t charge pre-shoot fees to represent a model; they receive a 20 percent commission on average on per-booking earnings. Because Target’s corporate headquarters are located in Minneapolis, find representation in that area or land an agent with a branch in that city. Ask about the add-on services agencies offer, if you can’t decide which Minneapolis or national agency to use. Some compile model portfolios or updated composites for their clients as part of their fee structure. Others leave the job to you. Understand that the agent you choose won’t be interested in a one-company model, so you must assure them that while being a Target model is your goal, you would be delighted to take other assignments.
Prepare yourself for rejection. The glitz and glamor of being a professional model is balanced by a huge amount of rejection. Going on auditions, sitting in a room with 40 other beauties--each one a head-turner--and getting no callbacks after repeated modeling calls can take a toll on your self-esteem. Learning to live with rejection can be character-building for some, but understand that continual rejections require a thick skin.

What is the most popular age for child models?
Children-models have no gradation by age - it is correct to divide them into groups according to their height. The most popular height among children is from 116 to 146 centimeters (usually boys and girls from 4 to 12 years old). Next come children up to 165 centimeters - teenagers (there are few job offers for them in Europe and Asia, but you can find good castings in Russia). All those above are adults.
Is there any difference between the requirements for boys and girls?
It all depends on the request of the clients - those who order shootings or arrange a show. We need either boys or girls of certain parameters, type. Sometimes they even stipulate the color of the eyes, but the requirements are the same for everyone - emancipation, liveliness, the ability to vividly show emotions, experience in front of the camera.
Take, for example, the length of the hair: both girls and boys prefer to have long hair - this allows you to create different looks. Even when customers are looking for babies for their advertising, they indicate “with hair”.
Which child models are invited to work abroad?
It all depends on which country and even part of the world we are talking about. Europe or Asia - everywhere their requirements and expectations.
For example, in Europe, children no taller than 140 (recently even 146) centimeters are more often invited to work, in Asia, the upper limit of the height of child models is, as a rule, 130 centimeters. The fashion for types in Europe changes from time to time, but they always love red-haired, fair-haired, green-eyed guys of a slender build (clothes for filming and shows are more often designed for average height and average parameters). In Asia, Slavic types are popular - blue-eyed blondes and blue-eyed brunettes.
But over time, everything, like fashion, changes: now cold types are in fashion (if you divide them by color type). Previously, brown-eyed children were reluctantly taken to European auditions, but now they are a success. Although in China they are still not particularly in demand.
And if the appearance is imperfect? Ears stick out, for example
The listed types are, of course, collective images. Large brands are spoiled by them, often the most popular are children with non-standard appearance (for example, with protruding ears, unusual hair color, original haircut).
A child who has a chance to achieve something in the modeling field is, first of all, an individual. Some parents specifically make bob haircuts for children so that the child stands out from the rest of the models.
And if milk teeth fell out, should we wait until new ones grow in?
No, there is absolutely nothing wrong with that. Castings are rare, where the employer in the request for models prescribes the presence of all teeth.
Baby teeth falling out is a natural process, and in Europe, for example, employers tend to show children as children, with all their natural manifestations.
Is it difficult to combine modeling with school activities?
Today's children have a lot of opportunities - creative studios, sports sections, additional classes for in-depth study of school subjects, languages. And everywhere you can achieve success if you properly distribute the forces and time. Modeling is no exception. The students of our modeling school have time to study well and participate in photo shoots and shows.
School absences happen during filming, screenings and other projects. There are children who leave to work under a contract for two months (to China, for example). But they are catching up with the program, studying on their own with their parents, and hiring tutors. Just like child athletes, child models make sacrifices. This is the choice of the child and his parents.
Are parents attached to their children and do they have to accompany them? And what about the work?
By law (which is the same for all countries), children can only be photographed, filmed or put on the podium in the presence of their adult representatives. These are not necessarily parents - in our agency we ourselves often travel with children to work abroad.
How to start the path to a child's model future?
First of all, you need to show it to professionals (in a modeling agency, for example). If a child has a bright appearance, he is charismatic and freely kept on the court, he can show different emotions on camera - he has every chance of becoming a top model in the future.

The effectiveness of an advertising campaign largely depends on the correct choice of the target audience. Even the most profitable offer on the market can go unnoticed if it is broadcast to the wrong users.
Let's take a closer look at what the target audience is and how to correctly determine who to target.
What is the target audience?
Target audience is a group of potential customers who are more likely to buy a product or service. These people have a need or problem that your product solves. Before setting up targeting, you need to determine exactly who is in your audience so that your ads are shown only to interested users.
For example, you deliver flowers. This business is characterized by seasonality, so potential customers can be identified by holidays:
- March 8 - these are men who want to please women;
- September 1 - parents preparing their child for school;
- Mother's Day - girls or guys who want to congratulate their mother, etc.
Separately, we can distinguish a group of corporate customers and bouquets for events (weddings, birthdays). All these people will be included in the target audience of a standard flower shop. You can immediately segment the audience in order to develop an advertising strategy for each situation.
The target audience for the target is determined by a set of characteristics, which can then be easily translated into the settings of an advertising campaign.
Audience setting
Enter the name of the advertising campaign in the required field. It is not necessary to fill it out in the first place, you can enter the name at the end of the setup, especially if you plan to change it.

Next, use the settings to specify the target audience of the advertisement. Ads will only be seen by the users you select.
Basic audience settings (targeting)

By default, targeting by gender, age and geography is displayed:
Gender: allows you to choose whether ads will be shown to men or women. If you choose to target both men and women, your ads will also be seen by users whose gender is not specified.
Age: Select targeting if you know the age of the target audience or have an idea of how old the users who will be interested in the ad might be.
You can also set up broadcasting ads to users who have not indicated their age on the social network.
Select the Custom age setting if you want to cover multiple ages, including those outside a certain range. For example: "23, 24, 26, 35 - 40, 75". To exclude any age, put a minus in front of the number: "-38". To cover people who did not state their age, enter a question mark: "?".

Geography:
Cities and regions: select the country, region/territory and regional center where the target audience is located. You can also exclude users by geography. For example, you can run ads throughout Russia, but disable ads in the Leningrad region and Yekaterinburg.
Select on the map (local ads): show ads in an area with a radius of 500 m to 10 km. To do this, specify a point on the map manually or add an address. When setting up this targeting, in the Coverage field, you will see how many users have visited the selected location in the last 7 days.
This data is not taken into account by the coverage predictor in the upper left corner. Ads will be shown to those who are currently in this location, have recently visited it, or have been there regularly in the last 30 days.
These are the standard targetings that are offered for all purposes.
Detailed settings
Other targetings can be found in the "Detailed audience settings" tab:
Behavioral and social characteristics: select marital status, education, income level and other parameters.
Interests: Target your ads to interests based on user behavior on the web. So, shoe sellers can set up separate campaigns for users who are interested in buying women's, men's or children's shoes.
If you select targeting by multiple interests, the audiences will be added according to the “OR” principle - for example, you will show ads to those who are interested in client games or game streams (when you select “Client games” and “Game streams” in the interest interface).
Weather targeting: show ads to users at the right time and in a certain region, depending on the set weather conditions.
You can set weather targeting by several parameters: precipitation (rain/hail, snow/blizzard, cloudy, clear), wind force (calm, light wind, weak, moderate, strong, stormy, hurricane), temperature (from -50 to +50 degrees), pressure (from 700 to 800 mmHg).
For example, an ad for a cold remedy will be shown when the weather favors hypothermia, an ad for waterproof clothing during rain. In addition, weather targeting can be used to boost ads for services such as taxis or food delivery when users least want to go out in the rain.
Remarketing to app users using deeplinks: broadcast ads to users who were on your site and in the app, or exclude them from the display audience. Deeplink technology can be used for this type of remarketing. It sends the user from the ad directly to the desired page within the application, for example, the product page from the ad creative. Using deep links makes advertising more effective and increases conversion within the installed application.
Segments: select the segments generated in the "Audiences" section. You can create them using user contact lists, relevant groups in Odnoklassniki and VK, search queries, etc. site visitors (using the top.mail.ru counter),
- Dynamic remarketing
- DMP segments (outer segments)
- Local ad lists
- Geo-region list - create an audience source based on the information that users indicate in their social media profiles. To set up this targeting, on the Audiences page, select the "List of geo-regions", name it and select the regions. Next, create a segment based on this audience and run ads on it.
One or more targeting types are available for selection. Within one targeting, the values will work according to the principle of combining - "OR". For example, if you mark the Leningrad and Moscow regions in the Geography targeting, you will show ads to residents of both regions.
Selected values between different targetings work according to the principle of intersection - "And". For example, if you select "Male" in the "Gender" targeting, and "20 - 25" in the "Age" targeting, you will show ads to men aged 20 to 25 years.
If necessary, set the age limit (0+, 3+, 6+, 12+, 16+, 18+) or select "Not set".

In the campaign settings, specify the schedule and timing for displaying ads.
