C.R.: No one will hire you if you are not a union member. Projects are basically of two types: either they are unionized or they are not. If you are a union member, you cannot work on projects that are not covered by unions. Trade unions are built to protect your professional rights. They protect you from situations where you may not be given something under the contract. Previously, there were two trade unions: SAG and AFTRA, after which they merged. There were several ways to join them. If you are not a union member, then you could sign a contract with a producer, and if you have an important role with words in a project that is covered by a union, then your candidacy was submitted to the union and supported. You just need to develop some kind of system.
When you come to work, no one will ask how and where you studied, but they will watch whether you can complete the task or not. There are teachers who specialize in one element of skill - this is either script breakdown or character building, but most, of course, are built on the Stanislavsky system.
