Should I focus on a birth season rather than a birth month?
Some women try to calculate pregnancy so that their baby is born under a certain astrological sign or a specific birth date that is meaningful to them. Pregnancy is always unpredictable, so specific forecasts for birth don't always pan out. Of course, it is possible to plan which month you’d like to have your baby. You might want a summer birth for more fun, outdoor birthday parties, or a winter baby so that he or she will get to celebrate during the school year with friends from class. However, the season during which you have your baby could actually have a more important role than birthday planning.
How can the seasons affect birthweight?
A recent study shows that seasonality can actually affect your child’s birth weight. Babies born in the spring months were more likely to have a higher birth weight than those born in the summer months. While you certainly don’t want your baby to be enormous, low birth weight usually indicates that your child did not complete his or her development in the womb.
The cause of these differences could be the temperature of the mother’s environment during the final months of pregnancy. Research shows that women should try to avoid exposing their belly to extreme heat when they’re in their third trimester, as it could affect the child’s development. Saunas and hot tubs are not recommended, and women should avoid them until they’ve given birth.
The same might hold true for the hot summer months. Spending time in direct sunlight might cause a slowing in the development of the fetus, which would cause a lower than average birth weight. The spring months are usually the most temperate, so the fetus will not be exposed to drastic temperature changes between hot and cold, which will allow for a more consistent rate of development.
Of course, seasonal changes are not the only thing that might affect birth weight, so this study should not be taken as the final word. Millions of babies are born in the heat of the summer and they turn out perfectly normal. However, if you’re worried about the heat affecting your fetus before birth, try conceiving in the summer months.

Reverse Due Date Calculator - Mama Natural
- Note that you can go back in time (for example, to your birthday) to see the date of conception.
- You can also go into the future to see when you’d need to conceive to have a baby around a certain date.
What is a Reverse Due Date Calculator?
A reverse due date calculator is the exact opposite of a due date calculator. A due date calculator works when you know the date of your last menstrual period (LMP) and it helps you predict baby’s due date from there. But a reverse due date calculator works when you know your due date, but you’re not exactly sure when you had sex or conceived the baby.
Why Use a Reverse Due Date Calculator?
- Maybe you had a dating ultrasound at your first prenatal appointment that provided your baby’s gestational age and due date.
- Maybe you want your baby to be born in September or later in the year, so you want to know when to conceive.
- Or maybe you’re feeling nostalgic and wondering when you or one of your children were conceived?
Whatever the case, you’ve come to the right place. Our reverse due date calculator can help you do the math in an instant.
- A reverse due date calculator uses your estimated due date (or the date of birth) to figure out the approximate date of conception.
- A reverse due date calculator will also tell you the window in which intercourse most likely led to conception.
What Is the Date of Conception?
The date of conception is date a baby is created, but not necessarily the date you had sex (more on that below). Conception occurs when sperm comes into contact with and fertilizes the egg that is released from a woman’s ovary during ovulation.
Can You Calculate the Exact Day of Conception?
Precisely when conception happens is a little bit more of a mystery. Pinpointing the exact date of ovulation is complex. Most women ovulate between days 11-21 of their monthly cycle, but as you can see, that’s a big window of time. What’s more, many women don’t closely track ovulation by monitoring cervical mucus and basal body temperature, and even those who do can be off by a day or more.
To add to the confusion, conception can occur in a few hours after intercourse, or it can occur up to a week after intercourse! How is that possible? If the conditions are right, sperm can live inside a woman’s body for up to a week.
Why Is the Date of Conception Important?
Most due dates are calculated off of a woman’s last menstrual period (LMP). That’s how our due date calculator works. The problem is that this method of establishing an estimated due date isn’t always accurate, especially for women who don’t have a standard 28-day cycle. Still, it’s become the standard, since most women are more likely to know the exact date of their LMP than the exact date they ovulated.
The whole concept is a bit confusing though. According to this pregnancy dating method, your first—and sometimes even second—week of pregnancy occurs before you even did the deed! Huh?!
Therefore, pinpointing conception—when sperm and egg actually meet to create new life—is a much more accurate representation of when your pregnancy began. And it can help you answer the question “How many weeks pregnant am I?”
If you’re currently pregnant, having a clear idea of when your pregnancy actually began is important at the end of your pregnancy when the conversation may turn to induction. There are risks for both mama and baby if induction occurs before the body is ready to go into labor, so if your healthcare provider thinks you’re further along than you really are, you could be encouraged to try induction sooner than necessary.
And that’s where the reverse due date calculator comes in.
How Do You Calculate Date of Conception?
Much like a due date calculator returns an estimated due date, a reverse due date calculator will return an estimated date of conception. Although it may seem like it, a reverse due date calculator isn’t magic—it’s just some simple math.
For a regular 28-day cycle, pregnancy is estimated to be 280 days, or 40 weeks, from your last menstrual period, and 266 days, or 38 weeks, from the date of ovulation. Therefore, to calculate the most likely date of conception, you need to subtract 266 days from your estimated due date.
What Is My Due Date Based on Date of Conception?
If you know with relative certainty when you conceived or have used our reverse due date calculator, use that option in our due date calculator or our advanced due date calculator to get a more accurate estimated due date.

Questions about gestational age and due date: page 2
What gestational age is indicated in the ultrasound report? Obstetric and embryonic terms of pregnancy, determination of the expected date of birth. Doctors of medical clinics "Art-Med" answer the questions of patients.
Ask a Question
The first day of my last period was September 9th. Cycle 28 days, regular for 5 days. Ultrasound October 21: SVD 20 mm with a live embryo. What is the gestational age for SVD? nine0003
6 - 7 weeks obstetric period (4 - 5 weeks from conception).
Pregnancy 4-5 weeks by ultrasound on 21 October. The result of hCG on November 6 is 186205 credits. The first day of the last menstruation is September 9th. Cycle 28 days. Sexual intercourse was 7 (interrupted), 14,16,18,21 September. When was conception?
If the ultrasound report indicates the period from conception (2 weeks less than obstetric), then the pregnancy occurred on the 20th of September.
The first day of my last period was January 31st. Ultrasound on March 7 showed the diameter of the fetal egg 8.6 mm. When was conception? nine0003
You probably got pregnant on February 12-15.
Last period 12.01. 14.02 had sexual intercourse, protected by a condom. HCG analysis result: 10. 7. Can there be such a result of hCG at 2-3 weeks of pregnancy? Can't you see anything at this time on the ultrasound?
To clarify the situation (whether pregnancy is developing), repeat the blood test for hCG. With ultrasound, the fetal egg is visualized when the hCG level is more than 1000.
I don’t remember the exact date of menstruation, approximately the beginning - mid-September. The conclusion of the ultrasound on October 16: ktr 3 mm, fetal egg 11 mm, 5 weeks of pregnancy. Is this fetal or obstetric? nine0003
The ultrasound report indicates the obstetric gestational age (from the first day of the last menstruation).
Irregular cycle, last period was 24.11, unprotected intercourse was 5.12 without ejaculation. I took Postinor for reinsurance. 9.12 began intermenstrual bleeding, which lasted 4 days. 15.12 was unprotected intercourse with ejaculation. 27.12 blood test for hCG 146.0, which corresponds to 1-2 weeks. According to the ultrasound, the date of birth is September 8, 2015. What date did I get pregnant? Will postinor affect pregnancy? nine0003
It looks like you got pregnant on December 15th. Previously taken Postinor cannot harm this pregnancy.
Pregnancy after IVF, I am 46 years old, the donor is 27. My gestational age is calculated from the day of replanting, 5 day old embryo. Menstruation does not count, as there was a cryotransfer of the embryo. 0 DPP - 5 days fetal 1 DPP - 6 days fetal 2 DPP - 1 week, etc. To convert to obstetric weeks, you need to add two weeks. It turns out according to the scheme 1 week of embryonic is equal to 3 weeks of obstetric. I did an ultrasound scan several times, the last one was done yesterday, if you count from replanting yesterday there was a deadline (11 weeks 1 day of obstetrics). But on all ultrasounds, including the last one, they write the period less, on the last they wrote the period 9-10 weeks (device showed 9 weeks 6 days). I know that the first screening should be done at 10-13 weeks, and ultrasound is generally desirable at 12-13 weeks. How can I count these same 12-3 weeks, from the day of replanting or according to the results of an ultrasound scan? If I have IVF, are the results of the biochemical blood test effective?
Count from replanting plus 2.5 weeks. The results of a biochemical blood test are also effective in IVF.
On December 23, I took an hCG test and it showed 3835, which, according to my calculations, corresponded to 2 weeks of pregnancy. The second test was done on January 5 and already showed 87516, which already corresponded to 5 weeks of pregnancy. The next day, a transvaginal ultrasound of the uterine cavity was performed and the doctor concluded that I was 7 weeks pregnant. The following was written on the card: The average internal diameter of the fetal egg is 3.6 cm, which corresponds to 6 weeks 7 days. Embryo body length (K.T.R.) 0. 9mm, which corresponds to 7 weeks. What is my current gestational age and when to register with honey. institution?
Apparently, your last period (if they go regularly) started on November 17-20. In the hCG test, you considered pregnancy from conception (true term). In the conclusion of the ultrasound, the obstetric gestational age is indicated, it is more than the true one by 2 weeks. It is in obstetric weeks that the entire pregnancy is considered, including maternity leave, date of birth, etc. All this is described in detail in the articles on our website. nine0003
I had my last period on May 21st. When should I give birth?
The full 40 weeks will be February 28th. So, you can give birth in February and early March. A full-term pregnancy is considered between 37 and 42 weeks.
For the treatment of the cyst, the doctor prescribed oral contraceptives - silhouette. After the second pack of pills, the period did not come, at the moment the delay is 17 days. On the 19th I went to the gynecologist, when examined on the armchair, the doctor stated that I was pregnant for 2-3 weeks (at that time the delay was 2 weeks). Last period was November 7th. Could this be the case or is it a hormonal imbalance? nine0003
To clarify the fact of pregnancy, it is worth taking a blood test for hCG and / or doing an ultrasound of the pelvic organs.
The last menstruation was on July 23, the doctor gave the PDR on April 29. On ultrasound, the size of the fetus corresponds to 15 weeks. Is the due date correct?
If we count from the 1st day of the last menstruation, then the expected date of delivery is correct. But according to the ultrasound - it's not clear. You didn't write when the study was done.
Period of pregnancy by menstruation 6 weeks. I was on an ultrasound, the doctor sets a period of 3 weeks from ovulation, the size of the fetal egg is 8 mm attached, the embryo is not visible. Why such a discrepancy? Is it possible that this is an undeveloped pregnancy? nine0003
To clarify the situation (whether pregnancy is developing) it is worth repeating the ultrasound in 5-7 days.
Is it possible to find out the date of conception if the date of birth is set on September 10? On November 24th I had sex, but after that I had my period. Currently at 26 weeks.
It is necessary to calculate the date of conception based on all available data - the day of the last menstruation, the data of all ultrasounds, starting from the earliest. So far, you presumably got pregnant in mid-December - if everything is written correctly. nine0003
I got registered on 01/21/2014, the gynecologist set a period of 10 weeks, according to ultrasound more - 10.4. Last menstruation from 29.10 - 03.11.2013, menstrual cycle - 30 days, in early December, the test did not show pregnancy, I have had hormonal failure for 3 years, ovarian cysts. Until now, I still don’t know exactly my gestational age, the date of the expected birth and maternity leave, tell me what to do?
You will go on maternity leave on June 5-10, and give birth in the first half of August.
I am 19years. My due date for the last ultrasound (January 27) is 14 weeks and 6 days, and for monthly 15 weeks. The first day of the last menstruation is October 15, 2013. Is this possible? After all, the obstetric period should be more than the embryonic one by 2 weeks. On ultrasound they said everything is fine, the development is on time.
You are doing well at this stage, there is no reason to worry. In the conclusion of the ultrasound, the obstetric gestational age is indicated.
The cycle is regular 30 days, the last menstruation was on June 26, 2013, on January 26, 2014, according to ultrasound, the period is 28 weeks, and the doctor is 30 weeks. Who is right? Could I get pregnant in early June? nine0003
Your last period is 30 weeks pregnant. In this situation, it is worth recalculating the gestational age, based on the data from the earliest ultrasound, it is very important not to miss the development of placental insufficiency.
I am a nursing mother. Date of birth - 11/23/12. There were no periods after childbirth. On 06/18/13 she did an ultrasound, according to which 4-5 weeks of pregnancy, KTR - 4 mm., Repeated ultrasound on 07/11/13. 10 weeks, CTE - 27 mm. Your article says that the embryonic period is used for up to 12 weeks. Need to add or subtract 2 weeks? PA was 21.04 and, approximately, 22-23.05. When did I get pregnant: in May or April? nine0003
In the first conclusion, the true gestational age (from conception) is indicated, in the second - obstetric, which must be relied upon. You got pregnant in May, you will give birth in early February.
My cycle is irregular, besides, I took postinor. I had an ultrasound on 11/14/13. The conclusion says pregnancy 7 weeks 4 days, dichorionic diamniotic twins. KTP 1 - 1.23 cm, yolk sac 0.38 cm in diameter, chorion up to 0.47 thick, KTP 2 - 1.18 cm, yolk sac 0.42 cm in diameter, chorion up to 0.69 thicksee PA were 11/09/13, 23/09/13 and 05-07/10/13, in October I took postinor. From which of these PA did I become pregnant and what is the period indicated in the conclusion of the ultrasound obstetric or from conception?
You apparently got pregnant from sexual intercourse in October. In the conclusion of the ultrasound, the obstetric gestational age is indicated, it is more than the true one by 2 weeks.
My cycle is irregular and I don't remember the date of my PM. 10/27/13 did an ultrasound. According to the results in the uterine cavity, 2 fetal eggs of SVD each 0.7 cm. The embryo was not convincingly visualized in either one or the other. The diameter of the yolk sac is 0.1 cm. The chorion is 0.2 cm thick. Pregnancy is 4.5 weeks. Which weeks are indicated: obstetric or fetal? And when could conception occur according to these data? nine0003
The obstetric term is indicated in the conclusion. You got pregnant in early October.
What is my gestational age, if the last menstruation was on April 7, 2013. 15 weeks were put on an ultrasound scan, does it mean that ultrasound is calculated according to obstetric terms? Could I have gotten pregnant on March 28 and did I have my period on April 7?
In the conclusion of the ultrasound, the obstetric gestational age is indicated, it is 2 weeks longer than the true one. You got pregnant in the 2nd half of April. Read more about the terms of pregnancy and their calculation in the section "Medical publications". nine0003
When registering for pregnancy, I was given 7 weeks, ultrasound also showed 7.5 weeks, after 3 weeks they sent me again for an ultrasound, where for some reason I was given only 8 weeks (after 3 weeks), my gynecologist re-examines me and says that it still looks more like 11 weeks already, how to be in such a situation?
To clarify the situation, repeat the ultrasound with an independent specialist.
According to the ultrasound, I was given the estimated date of delivery - 03/03/2013, and my gynecologist put it on 03/23/2013. The difference between these estimated due dates is as much as 20 days. What number should I aim for? nine0003
It is necessary to recalculate all stages of pregnancy, focusing, first of all, on the date of the last menstruation, the expected date of conception and the results of the earliest ultrasound. Ultrasound data in the later stages speak only about the size of the fetus and their compliance with any term. It is possible that you have a large baby.
I am concerned about the timing of my pregnancy. On December 12, they set a period in the LCD for 4-5 weeks, after which I did another ultrasound on December 27, they set the period - 9 weeks and one day, the CTE of the embryo is 21 mm, the fetal egg is visualized, the average diameter is 31 mm. According to my exact calculations, sexual intercourse was from 3 to 4 November. The menstrual cycle before about 4 months was very unstable, the last menstruation was 29September. Is 9 weeks gestation realistic?
The gestational age is quite real, in the conclusion of the ultrasound it is indicated in obstetric weeks, which is more than the true period (from conception) by 2 weeks. Read more about this in the Medical Publications section.
At 12 weeks (at the first ultrasound) I was given an approximate date of delivery - 10/25/2012, when I went to register at another maternity center, they told me that I was 37 weeks, that is, 2 weeks more. I'm afraid to go through pregnancy and I'm worried about the health of the baby, now it turns out for the first term - 40 weeks, and for the last - 42.
To clarify the gestational age, you need to recalculate it according to all available data. Read more about this in the Medical Publications section.
I have a monthly pregnancy - 38 weeks, embryonic period - 36 weeks, at the last ultrasound they found: hemodynamic disorders 1b, premature maturation of the placenta, multiple small calcifications. What awaits me: EP, stimulation or caesarean section?
You are developing placental insufficiency. The term and method of delivery will depend on many factors, primarily on the condition of the fetus. nine0003
The menstrual cycle started on 03.03, the next one was supposed to start around 31.03-01.04. I did a test on 01.04 - positive (the second band was weak). On ultrasound 08.04, the size of the fetal egg is 6-7 mm. Is it 2-3 weeks pregnant? Is it possible to determine the day of conception?
Conception took place in the middle of March.
I am 29 years old, 33-34 weeks pregnant. I constantly think about childbirth, I can not stand the pain. I have very painful periods (probably hereditary), often with vomiting, I drink 3 painkillers, and I read that, as a rule, childbirth is more painful in such cases. I want anesthesia, but the doctor is in the hospital for natural childbirth and sensations. I want to take baralgin spazmalgon or solpadein with me to the maternity hospital when I can drink it, at the beginning of the contractions? I don’t know who to ask, I will take the pills anyway. Just don’t advise, massage, mood, etc., I know what pain during menstruation, I’m ready to eat everything, just to let go. nine0003
I am also for natural childbirth, but there is a category of patients for whom this is unacceptable. You are included. Therefore, in your case, it is better to use epidural (epidural) or spinal anesthesia. Talk about it with your doctor or change him - time is still patient. Painkillers you can take when the contractions become painful, but it is better not to hide this from the doctor who will conduct the birth.
I have a ring. After removal (at 37 weeks), how long does it take to give birth? nine0003
Once the ring is removed, delivery can occur within hours, days or even weeks. It will depend on the readiness of your body and the body of the baby for childbirth.
I am 39 weeks pregnant. Yesterday the whole evening the uterus came to tone every 10 minutes. But it's not painful. Slept normally at night. It's all gone in the morning. Sometimes it just comes in. If this happens again, do I need to go to the hospital?
You have "false" contractions. However, if they repeat, it is better to see a doctor and do a CTG to clarify the condition of the fetus. nine0003
I have completed 40 weeks but have not delivered. I have my period every month, but maybe a week late or a few days early, and sometimes on time. According to the first ultrasound on January 19, I was given a period of 6-7 weeks. What is the approximate due date for the fetus?
If your first ultrasound report indicates your obstetric gestational age, you will reach 40 weeks around 10 September. But it is better to recalculate all the terms (for menstruation, for ovulation, for conception, for all ultrasounds, for the first movement, for attending a antenatal clinic, etc.). It will be more convenient to do this in person. nine0003
Pregnancy Questions and Answers - Useful articles
What to expect? How to eat? How to deal with difficulties? How to do everything right? These and many questions will be answered by Irina Alexandrovna Soleeva, an obstetrician-gynecologist at the Sadko clinic.
- How is due date calculated?
From the first day of the last menstrual period. To determine the due date, 280 days are added to the first day of the last menstruation, i.e. 10 obstetrics, or 9calendar months.
Usually, the calculation of the due date is simpler: from the date of the first day of the last menstruation, 3 calendar months are counted back and 7 days are added. So, if the last menstruation began on October 2, then, counting back 3 months (September 2, August 2 and July 2) and adding 7 days, determine the expected date of birth - July 9; if the last menstruation began on May 20, then the expected due date is February 27, etc.
Expected due date can be calculated by ovulation: 14-16 days are counted back from the first day of the expected but not arrived menstruation and 273-274 days are added to the found date. nine0003
- And if you know the exact date of conception, how many days to add?
A large-scale study was conducted with a large number of pregnant women, according to various indicators, the gestational age and, accordingly, the date of birth were determined. It turned out that the woman most often remembers the date of the last menstruation. And from this fixed date, as the study showed, childbirth occurs at the 40th week ± a couple of weeks. Obstetrician-gynecologists are guided precisely by this system of calculations. nine0003
- Should I change my diet, if so, how?
4 meals a day are recommended in the first half of pregnancy, 5-6 meals a day in the second. It is better to eat often, but little by little. For healthy women, there are no forbidden foods (except alcoholic beverages), only more or less preferred ones.
So, the body absorbs easily digestible milk fats and vegetable oils better. The latter are not only a source of essential linoleic acid, but also vitamin E, which has a positive effect on the course of pregnancy. nine0003
To eliminate constipation, it is worth enriching the diet with sources of dietary fiber (fiber, pectins) - vegetables and fruits, buckwheat and oatmeal.
In the second half of pregnancy, sugar, confectionery and flour products, rice should be eaten in very small quantities. Do not get carried away with fried, spicy, salty foods, because. during this period, the liver and kidneys of a pregnant woman function with tension. It is better to prefer boiled and steamed dishes.
The main thing is to include a variety of foods in your diet: vegetables, fruits, juices - and you will provide yourself and your unborn child with everything necessary for normal development. nine0003
- I really want olives, but they are canned. Can?
It depends on the gestational age. After 20 weeks, I would not recommend eating too salty foods, including olives. And in general, any canned food is not the most suitable food for a pregnant woman. Although olives, in themselves, the product is very useful. Therefore, within reasonable limits, say, a jar can be eaten in two days.
- And the grapes?
Grapes are very well digestible. It's fructose. It is immediately absorbed and quickly raises blood sugar. But if you are overweight, it is either not recommended at all, or it is allowed in small quantities. It is allowed to eat a small brush, or you can treat yourself to something else.
For some reason, it is customary for us to believe that if you are pregnant, you have to eat for three or whatever you want. As a result, pregnant women buy grapes in boxes and eat them in kilograms. Such a diet does not lead to anything good: sugar appears in the urine, blood sugar rises, babies are born large. Moreover, a large load falls not only on the mother's pancreas, but also on the child's pancreas - the baby from birth will be predisposed to being overweight. nine0003
- Is it possible to reduce excess weight during pregnancy and cleanse your body with the help of special teas?
All cleansing teas are contraindicated during pregnancy. We have drugs that improve the functions of the liver and kidneys, which have a diuretic effect. We assign everything individually. There are no special cleansing procedures during pregnancy. However, we have fasting days - here is the best cleansing procedure for you.
- Which vitamins are best for pregnancy?
Now there is a huge selection of various vitamin complexes for pregnant women. Of course, they are all close to each other in composition. One or two components or the dosage of some vitamin differ. In order not to harm yourself and the baby, to achieve the maximum effect, each patient needs to select vitamins, based on the advice of her doctor, who controls the course of pregnancy.
- How long should I take them? nine0133
Do not take multivitamin preparations continuously. The necessary course can be selected only by a doctor, taking into account the state of your body. We have different periods when it is better to stop taking vitamins altogether. In certain weather seasons, when there is enough sun, fresh vegetables and fruits, there is no need to take vitamin complexes.
- Can I continue playing sports?
Not only possible, but necessary. From the first months of pregnancy. They will help to maintain good physical shape, and this will definitely help during childbirth, relieve excessive tension and improve mood. The main thing that you should not forget is that the training program should be specially adapted for pregnant women and should be carried out under the supervision of a doctor or an experienced instructor. nine0003
- Do I really have to push in prenatal classes? Will not diligence create the danger of premature birth?
No, there is no danger in this exercise. If there is anything to beware of, it is cycling, horseback riding, roller skating - all sports with an increased risk of injury.
- Can I take a contrast shower?
If a woman used this procedure before pregnancy. But during pregnancy, the water should not be too hot. By the way, hot baths and a bath should also be excluded. nine0003
- Can I continue to have sex while pregnant?
Each couple decides for themselves. If it gives pleasure to both, if the woman is comfortable, then you can keep your sex life almost until childbirth. Of course, too active sex will have to be excluded, and completely stopped 2-3 weeks before the birth: too vigorous sexual intercourse: it can provoke premature birth.
If earlier it was very strict: from 30-32 weeks, sexual life stops, now sex life is excluded by the doctor only if there are any deviations. After a while, he may allow you to resume intimacy. There are cases when sexual life is excluded for all 40 weeks. nine0003
- Do I need to use protection during pregnancy in order not to get pregnant again?
Very funny question. If one pregnancy has already occurred, re-conception during this period can no longer occur. The need for protection is therefore eliminated.
- Can I sleep on my stomach?
On short terms it is possible. The uterus comes out of the pelvic cavity after 12-13 weeks. Before that, it is protected by the pelvic bones, which means that we will not cause any harm to the fetus. nine0003
- So, the work of the expectant mother. Is it worth revising your working day, taking into account the new state?
Working during pregnancy is perfectly acceptable if there are no abnormalities. It is important to remember that pregnant women should not lift weights, work in heat and high humidity. Contact with harmful substances and prolonged standing should be avoided.
- Can motorists continue to drive? nine0133
You can drive a car if there are no contraindications from the doctor who monitors you during pregnancy. And it is not desirable in the later stages after 30 weeks, because there is a very strong load on the muscles of the pelvic floor, legs and arms work, concentration of attention is required - this is an additional stressful situation for your body. And of course, do not neglect the seat belt. He will not pull your stomach, but will pass under it and under your arm obliquely.
- How to deal with the signs of varicose veins?
It depends on the degree of varicose veins, its severity. Despite the rich selection of various drugs for internal and local action - tablets, drops, ointments - the most effective method of struggle is, nevertheless, wearing compression underwear. By the way, those who spend most of their working time sitting at a table, or vice versa, standing on their feet, should also think about the prevention of varicose veins. nine0003
It is better to stop your choice on tights: an elastic band or a stocking squeezes the leg too much, and when bandaging the legs, it is difficult to determine the necessary compression.
Tights should be selected by a doctor. A phlebologist works in our clinic. He will be able to choose the desired degree of compression.
Do not be afraid that underwear will be too tight on both legs and stomach: there are special tights for pregnant women. A special insert on the stomach fits him, supporting him, without squeezing at all. nine0003
- How to be smokers: won't quitting a bad habit cause stress for the body if the smoking experience before pregnancy was quite long?
Smoking during pregnancy is very bad. This applies equally to active and passive smokers. The fetus develops chronic hypoxia - a constant lack of oxygen. And it primarily affects the development of brain structures. The result is deviations from the norm in mental development. Even if the violations are minor at first, in infancy, most likely, they will manifest themselves in kindergarten or school, when the maximum load falls on the child's intellect. It will be difficult for the baby to learn, to perceive some information. nine0003
Moreover, there is a growing threat of premature births, miscarriages at different stages of pregnancy. Babies are often born small.
Stories that giving up habitual smoking will become a strong stress for the body are far from the truth. Our expectant patients break this bad habit without much difficulty. Even if you regularly inhaled tobacco smoke both before and after conception, you should not think that it is still too late to quit. The harm you will do to your baby if you continue to smoke is incomparable to the reluctance to part with a cigarette.
