Things to do pregnancy
A Month-By-Month Guide For Expecting Moms
Expecting a baby is exciting, overwhelming, and everything in-between! There’s so much to do before your little one makes their big debut. If you’re feeling the pressure, having a pregnancy checklist can help.
A month-by-month to-do list helps you think of things that might not have occurred to you before and ensures that you take care of the necessities. And we have just the thing!
But before we get to the Newton Baby pregnancy checklist, we want to give a shout-out to those of you who aren’t pregnant yet but are trying to conceive! What should you focus on right now?
What To Do When You’re Trying To Conceive
Sometimes pregnancy is a wonderful surprise! Other times, you’ve been planning and hoping to get pregnant for quite a while.
If you’re actively trying to conceive, your prenatal care can (and should) start now! Here are a few ways to get ready and prepare your body.
- Start taking a prenatal vitamin. Folic acid is especially important!
- Get a checkup and go to the dentist.
- Make sure you’re up-to-date on immunizations like MMR and Tetanus.
- Find out how your health insurance covers prenatal care and delivery.
- Create a budget for prenatal care and baby expenses.
- Put a stop to unhealthy habits, like smoking and drug use.
- Cut down on alcohol and caffeine consumption.
- Eat healthy, balanced meals.
- Start exercising if you aren’t active already.
Once you do conceive, it’s game on! Here’s the pregnancy checklist you need to stay organized, healthy, and ready to welcome your baby into your home.
Month-By-Month Pregnancy Checklist
First Trimester Checklist
Month One (Weeks 1-4)
Your due date is calculated from the first day of your last period, which means that during weeks one through four of pregnancy, you may not even know you’re pregnant!
There’s not much that you need to do during this month. If you’re actively trying to get pregnant or think you might be, start on the list we mentioned above!
Month Two (Weeks 5-8)
- You can take a home pregnancy test on the first day after your missed period. If you’re doubtful about the results, take another test a week later.
- Do some research and choose an OB-GYN, family practitioner, or midwife. Make an appointment for when you’re eight or nine weeks pregnant.
- Before you go to your first doctor’s appointment, check your health insurance coverage.
- You can never be too prepared when it comes to morning sickness! Stock up on ginger ale, saltines, and Gatorade.
- If you’re a smoker, kick that habit to the curb ASAP.
- Say goodbye to margaritas and other alcohol for the next several months.
- Reduce your caffeine intake.
- Start eating a healthy pregnancy diet.
- Rest as much as you need to. Pregnancy fatigue is no joke, especially in the first trimester!
- Ask your doctor if the medications or supplements you’re taking are safe for pregnancy.
Month Three (Weeks 9-12)
- Shop for new bras. You may find that your breasts are rapidly changing in shape and size! Buy a couple of new bras, knowing you might do so again in a few months.
- Sit down with your partner and put your heads together about finances. Plan for prenatal care costs as well as delivery (and beyond!). Having a baby costs a pretty penny.
- Decide how you want to announce your pregnancy to friends and family.
- Ask your doctor about prenatal testing and decide what you want done. If you do a nuchal translucency screening (which tests for chromosomal abnormalities), you’ll have it around week 10 or 12.
- Get into a consistent exercise routine that’s safe for pregnant women.
- It’s never too early to start researching baby products and nursery furniture. An early start is especially important when it comes to essential pieces like your baby’s crib and crib mattress. If you have an extra-tiny space, check out our ideas for setting up a nursery in a small room here.
Second Trimester Checklist
Month Four (Weeks 13-17)
- If you’re working, let your boss know that you’re expecting and find out what maternity or paternity leave involves.
- You’re probably starting to develop a little bump! Buy (or borrow) maternity clothes.
- Start creating a registry with all the baby essentials so it’ll be ready to go when you have your first baby shower. Include baby items that serve more than one purpose, like Newton Baby’s Organic Swaddle Blankets.
- Make an appointment for your 20-week ultrasound.
- Decide if you want to know the gender of your baby (your 20-week ultrasound is usually when you can find out if you’re carrying a boy or girl).
- Plan a gender reveal party if you decide to find out the gender before delivery.
- Make the transition to side-sleeping — and don’t stop until you have your baby.
- Start doing Kegel exercises if you aren’t already.
Month Five (Weeks 18-22)
- Go to your 20-week ultrasound appointment.
- Schedule your gestational diabetes test (also known as a glucose screening).
- Decide if you want to take childbirth and breastfeeding classes, and do some research to see what’s available. Keep in mind you may have to register now.
- If you’ll need childcare, start looking into options. It might seem early, but time will fly! Plus, some daycares have waiting lists.
- Make a list of potential baby names!
- Begin baby-proofing your home. You have more energy in your second trimester than you will in your third, so getting things done now is a good idea.
- Start decorating the nursery! Check out our ideas for little boy and little girl nursery themes.
Month Six (Weeks 23-27)
- Go to your gestational diabetes glucose screening. Throwing back that glucose drink isn’t pleasant, but it’s necessary!
- Create a birth plan. This simply means writing out the details of how you want delivery day to go so that everyone knows your preferences.
- Set up the nursery. Even if you aren’t ready to put the finishing touches on the room, make sure you have the important parts taken care of — like a place for your baby to sleep! Opt for sleep safety for your little one by choosing a breathable mattress, like Newton Baby’s Crib Mattress.
- Research the pediatricians in your area.
- Update your will, IRA, and 401k beneficiaries.
- Make plans to wrap up travel since you’ll need to stick closer to home during your third trimester.
- Decide how you want to announce the birth of your bundle of joy.
- Even though you’re getting bigger (and possibly more uncomfortable!), stay active!
Third Trimester Checklist
Month Seven (Weeks 28-31)
- Start counting your baby’s kicks. Figure out how long it typically takes them to kick or move 10 times — it’s usually less than two hours. Let your doctor know if your baby’s kick count changes on a given day.
- Go to all of your doctor’s appointments. You’ll stay busy since you’ll have a visit every two weeks once you begin your third trimester.
- Schedule your Group B Strep test for somewhere between 35 and 37 weeks.
- Write thank-you notes for your baby shower gifts.
- If you have other kids, arrange childcare for the day you go into labor.
- Put the final touches on your nursery in case your little one decides to make an early appearance! Be sure it’s a safe space.
- Pack a hospital bag with things for you, your partner, and your baby.
Month Eight (Weeks 32-35)
- Have your house cleaned (by someone else!).
- Cook a few meals to put in the freezer. You’ll thank yourself later!
- Wash all of the precious baby clothes you have, and picture your little one wearing them!
- Wash the crib sheets and make your baby’s bed. For safe, soft linens, choose Newton Baby’s Breathable, Organic Cotton Sheets.
- Spend time with your partner and enjoy a date night in.
Month 9 (Weeks 36-40)
- You’re on the home stretch! Go to your doctor’s appointments, which will be once a week at this point.
- Have your Group B Strep test done if you haven’t already.
- Settle on a pediatrician and figure out how to add your baby to your insurance.
- Install the car seat so it’s ready to go when you start labor.
- Make a list of who should be notified when you go into labor (or when your little one comes into the world) and who will do so.
- Enjoy the last few days of your baby being inside of you!

The Complete Pregnancy Checklist: A Month-By-Month Guide
Joy, excitement, anticipation, nervousness—these are just a few of the feelings you experience if you’ve recently learned that you’re pregnant. It’s a wonderful time, but it can also be overwhelming. To stay organized, you’ll need a pregnancy checklist!
The baby experts here at Mustela have created exactly that! In this month-by-month guide, we’ll explain what you’ll need to do each month so you can rest easy while you prepare for your little one’s arrival.
We’ve split our checklist up into trimesters and included a brief overview of what you can expect from your rapidly changing body during each trimester, since how you feel (physically and emotionally!) affects how much you get done.
With that knowledge, you’ll be better prepared to face each month and tackle your to-do list!
First Trimester Pregnancy Checklist
Other than that special pregnancy glow, most people won’t even notice that you’re pregnant during your first trimester. But you will!
First of all, you’ll probably feel extra tired. This is due to hormonal changes, lower blood sugar and blood pressure, and the emotional rollercoaster of learning that you’re expecting a baby!
Another common symptom in the first trimester is morning sickness. The bright side is that it usually goes away at the end of this trimester. Last but not least, your breasts will grow and may be tender.
The first trimester is perhaps the most exciting time of a pregnancy, especially if it’s your first baby. There’s a long list of things to be done, but it’s definitely manageable! To help you get started, here’s a checklist for the first three months.
Month 1
- Make an appointment with your OBGYN to verify that you’re pregnant and to make sure that the pregnancy appears normal.
- Take a look at your insurance plan to understand what prenatal care is covered.
- Start keeping a baby diary! You’re definitely going to have a variety of emotions, and you may want to write some of them down. It will be fun to look back on this later.
- Adjust your diet. You’ll need nutrients for two now, so you should eat plenty of fruits and vegetables. Make sure to drink plenty of water, too!
- Quit smoking and drinking alcohol. We know it’s not as fun but it’s definitely best for your baby.
- Exercise regularly. You don’t need to do anything strenuous, but make sure you’re getting light exercise at least three times per week.
- Take folic acid supplements. They have been proven to greatly reduce the risk of some birth defects.
- Rest! Remember that you’ll be exhausted in the early stages of your pregnancy, so make sure to get plenty of sleep whenever you can. It’s OK if you aren’t as productive as you used to be!
- If you’re dealing with morning sickness, use ginger to settle your stomach and eat small, frequent meals.
Month 2
- Schedule your prenatal tests. This is a crucial part of your pregnancy checklist! Doctors are busy, so it’s best to make your appointments in advance. Talk to your doctor to find out what prenatal test schedule they recommend.
- Start budgeting for the baby. Having a baby isn’t cheap, so begin planning your finances right away.
- Spend time with your partner! This is important, but it’s something that’s easy to overlook. Make sure you’re getting enough one-on-one time with your partner. Once your baby arrives, it might be hard to find time to be intimate with your loved one.
- Decide where and how you’d like to give birth. You may want to deliver in a hospital with an OBGYN. Or you may want to have your baby in the comfort of your own home with the help of a midwife and doula. We recommend doing some research before deciding which option is right for you.
Month 3
- Decide whether or not you’d like to learn the sex of the baby. Some couples like to know, while others want to wait until the baby is born to find out. Talk with your partner and decide what’s best for you.
- Research the maternity leave policy at your workplace. You might not be using this for some time, but ticking it off the to-do list early gives you one less thing to worry about.
- Make an appointment with a dentist. Pregnant women are more susceptible to inflamed gums and gingivitis, so it’s important to get a cleaning and checkup with your dentist.
- Look into childbirth classes, such as the Lamaze Technique, The Bradley Method, and HypnoBirthing, to name a few. These classes can help a great deal when you go into labor. But schedule them early, as they tend to fill up quickly.
- Buy comfortable bras that fit your changing, tender breasts. Even though your belly isn’t big enough to need maternity clothes, your breasts might have grown enough to go up a bra size!
Second Trimester Pregnancy Checklist
The second trimester officially begins in the 14th week of pregnancy. The great part about your second trimester is that you’ll have more energy and less morning sickness. That’s why this is a great time to mark lots of things off your pregnancy checklist!
Of course, your growing baby belly will become much more noticeable during this trimester. As your uterus expands, the surrounding ligaments are stretched, which can cause abdominal aches called round ligament pain.
Your belly might also push up on your lungs, causing you to feel a bit out of breath at times. You may notice heartburn, constipation, swelling in your ankles or feet, and back pain, too.
As the second half of your pregnancy rolls around, don’t stress about all the things you need to do to get ready for your new baby! This second-trimester pregnancy checklist will help you stay on top of your to-dos.
Month 4
- Announce the good news! Your friends and family will be overjoyed to know that you have a baby on the way. Now is also a good time to let your colleagues and managers know that you’re pregnant.
- Start shopping for maternity clothes. After the fourth month, your bump will start to grow considerably, so make sure you’ve got all the right attire.
- Stock up on the skincare products you need! Try Mustela Soothing Moisturizing Balm, specially formulated to relieve itching sensations caused by pregnancy. And use our Stretch Marks Cream or Oil to ensure smooth, glamorous skin before and after giving birth.
- Go on your babymoon! A babymoon is a pre-baby vacation for you and your partner. It’s a great way to spend time together before the later stages of your pregnancy make travel difficult. If you hit the beach, bring lots of sunscreen and learn about sunbathing with a bun in the oven.
- Continue taking care of your body. This includes eating healthy, drinking water, and exercising regularly.
Month 5
- Decide where your baby will sleep. Perhaps you’d like to have your newborn sleep in your room, or maybe you’d like to set up a nursery. Either way, you can start preparing now.
- If you have chosen to find out the sex of your baby, decide if and how you want to tell your friends and family! A gender reveal party is a fun way to share the news and spend time with your loved ones.
- Have your anomaly scan and ultrasound exam performed. These are important prenatal tests, as they ensure the health of your unborn baby.
- Keep meeting with the person who will be delivering your baby. Developing this relationship will help you feel more comfortable in the delivery room.
- Decide whether you will breastfeed or formula feed. If you’re planning on nursing, learn about different breastfeeding positions and what to expect. Be proactive and start using Nursing Comfort Balm now.
Month 6
- Start planning your baby shower! This is an exciting part of any pregnancy. Get a group of close friends and family together to plan the perfect baby shower in your honor.
- Research childcare options. The next few months are going to fly by, so looking into childcare options now will help you take care of other tasks later. You want to be as prepared as possible for your little bundle of joy.
- Begin thinking about your baby’s name! You’ve probably been doing this since day one, but now’s the time to start talking with your partner about possible names.
- Plan maternity leave with your employer. This is an important part of the pregnancy checklist. Setting up your maternity leave well in advance ensures a smooth transition away from, and back to, work.
- Write a birth plan. This simply means thinking through your preferences and expectations for delivery day, then putting it all down on paper so everyone (doctors, midwife, your partner, etc.) is on the same page.
Third Trimester Pregnancy Checklist
You’re on the home stretch in your third trimester and your belly is getting bigger by the day! That means you might not have as much of an appetite — you will fill up faster with your baby pushing up against your abdomen. Another thing your big belly can cause: backaches.
You could also notice changes in your blood pressure, and your doctor will be on the lookout for preeclampsia, which is a condition marked by high blood pressure.
Finally, as your body prepares for delivery, you might have false labor pains, known as Braxton Hicks contractions. These are mild contractions that happen before you actually go into labor.
By this time, you’re thinking about your baby 24/7. Your little one will be a part of the family very soon, and you’re almost ready! Tie up all the loose ends with the steps laid out in this third-trimester pregnancy checklist.
Month 7
- Ask friends and family for baby hand-me-downs. You might be able to borrow baby clothes, furniture, and strollers from friends and family members with older children.
- Create a baby registry for your baby shower to let friends and family know which items would be the most helpful as you prepare for your baby’s arrival.
- Connect with other soon-to-be-moms. This will give you the chance to share experiences, get advice about childbearing, and make new friends.
- Find a good pediatrician. This will save you the hassle of scheduling various appointments with different pediatricians after your little one has arrived.
Month 8
- Enjoy your baby shower! This should be a special time for you to connect with your loved ones and celebrate.
- Finish setting up the nursery or the place where your baby will sleep. Your new little one will be here before you know it!
- Pre-cook meals that you can keep in the freezer. This will help for those nights when you’re too tired or too busy to cook a nice meal at home.
- Wash your baby’s clothes and sheets. The fabrics will be more comfortable for your baby as a result, and it’s much easier to get this task out of the way now.
- Stock up on the baby products you’ll inevitably need like baby oils, moisturizers, and cleansers.
Month 9
- Name your baby! You may have already chosen a name, but now’s the time to speak with your partner and finalize your decision.
- Pack your hospital bag. Things like a change of clothes, toiletries, snacks, and cell phone chargers should all get packed in the hospital bag.
- Pre-register with the hospital. This will make checking in to the hospital much easier when the big day comes since all of the paperwork will already be taken care of.
- Make plans for your other children and pets. You could go into labor at any moment now, so knowing who will take care of your other children and your pets while you’re in the hospital is critical.
- Install a baby seat in your car. Later on, you’ll thank yourself for doing this early on.
- Relax and wait for the big day! This is probably the most important thing you can do. Enjoy the final moments of your pregnancy, and imagine how much love you’re going to shower your little one with.

Sports during pregnancy - how to exercise
- Is it possible to exercise during pregnancy
- Contraindications for sports during pregnancy
- What sports can be done during pregnancy
- What to pay attention to while playing sports
Waiting for a baby is a special and very important period in a woman's life. The expectant mother cares not only about her health, but also about the well-being of her baby. More and more young girls in recent years are involved in sports in everyday life and at the stage of pregnancy planning. What should a woman do when she is already pregnant? Stop fitness classes or somehow combine them with a new position? After all, women in an “interesting position” have to monitor their figure, health and weight gain even more carefully than before pregnancy. nine0016
Is it possible to go in for sports during pregnancy
Everyone knows that sports have a positive effect on the physical and emotional state of a person. Are there benefits of exercising during pregnancy? Of course yes. A sedentary lifestyle contributes to weight gain, edema, and high blood pressure. It has long been no secret that sports exercises normalize the functioning of the respiratory and cardiovascular systems, strengthen the muscles that are involved in the birth act, have a beneficial effect on the psycho-emotional status, normalize sleep and improve appetite. Regular exercise reduces the percentage of pregnancy complications, contributes to the normal course of childbirth, and reduces the risk of perineal tears. Playing sports during pregnancy improves blood circulation and metabolism in the internal organs, which has a positive effect on the growth and development of the fetus, and prevents the appearance of edema. There is also scientific evidence that the children of women who exercise during pregnancy are less prone to various diseases, infections and stress. In addition, a woman who went in for sports during pregnancy recovers faster in the postpartum period, and the risk of developing postpartum complications is significantly reduced. nine0003
In any case, before starting to exercise during pregnancy, it is imperative to consult an obstetrician-gynecologist who is watching a woman.
Contraindications for sports during pregnancy
There are conditions and diseases in which sports are strictly contraindicated:
- placenta previa - a condition when the placenta is located low in the uterus and blocks the exit from it (the so-called internal os). These conditions are dangerous due to the sudden onset of heavy bleeding, and any physical activity can provoke it. nine0006
- diseases of the liver, kidneys, cardiovascular system. Additional physical activity during pregnancy in the form of fitness classes can aggravate the course of these diseases.
- uterine bleeding. Naturally, with bleeding, fitness is contraindicated, because physical exercises can lead to increased bleeding.
- uterine hypertonicity, threatened miscarriage. Sports can also aggravate the situation and lead to miscarriage. nine0006
- polyhydramnios - excessive accumulation of amniotic fluid. Sports in this case can lead to premature birth or rupture of the fetal bladder and premature rupture of amniotic fluid.
- inflammatory and purulent processes, since sports will contribute to the spread of the inflammatory process.
- preeclampsia is a severe complication of the second half of pregnancy, in which blood pressure rises, protein appears in the urine and edema. Sports in this case can provoke a formidable complication of pregnancy - eclampsia - the appearance of seizures. nine0006
- severe anemia - a significant decrease in hemoglobin levels is usually accompanied by a lack of oxygen to organs and tissues, and exercise can further aggravate the state of oxygen deficiency.
- diseases of the blood system, in particular with a tendency to thrombosis (the formation of blood clots that clog blood vessels) or bleeding. In these cases, the course of the disease may worsen against the background of physical exertion during pregnancy.
In addition, it must be remembered that even a healthy woman with a physiological course of pregnancy can not practice all sports. In some cases, the reason for the ban is a high degree of injury in certain sports. This group includes horse riding, boxing, karate, all kinds of wrestling, ski jumping, parachuting, skiing, skateboarding, roller skating, snowboarding. Prohibited activities include motorcycling, scooters, snow scooters and jet skis. In addition to the high risk of injury, the running engine of these vehicles causes intense vibration, which adversely affects the pelvic organs and can lead to abortion. Cycling, exercise bikes and water bikes have the property of increasing blood flow to the uterus, as a result of which the tone may increase, which leads to the threat of termination of pregnancy. Jumping into the water and diving are also prohibited. Both sports are associated with a significant change in pressure, which is highly undesirable for a woman expecting a baby, as it can lead to impaired blood supply to the fetus. You can also not engage in sports where you need to hold your breath, such as bodyflex. nine0003
The taboo is also imposed on power sports, lifting weights over 5 kilograms, respectively, on all power simulators, step, dance aerobics, sprinting, long-distance running, any exercises related to stretching the abdominal muscles.
What sports can be done during pregnancy
What activities are allowed for pregnant women:
First of all, when starting to play sports during pregnancy, it is necessary to take into account the level of physical fitness before conception . If a woman has been regularly involved in sports for many years, has received intense exercise, naturally and during pregnancy, in the absence of contraindications, she can afford more intense exercise, although with the presence of a certain control. So, in particular, the pulse rate 5 minutes after the completion of the exercise should not exceed 100 beats per minute, and blood pressure should normalize on its own after the same period of time. During training, you should try to limit the time of intensive physical work to 15 minutes (under intensive work is understood as such, during which the heart rate exceeds 150 beats per minute). It is better to increase the time allotted for warm-up and warm-up. The training time itself should ideally not exceed 1.5 hours. nine0003
Women who do not engage in intensive fitness before pregnancy should carefully approach the start of exercise during pregnancy, start small and gradually, within reasonable limits, increase the load.
Hiking
One of the simplest, accessible to every woman, but very effective physical activity, allowed to absolutely all pregnant women, regardless of their preparation and well-being, is walking. Such exercises tone the muscles of the legs, buttocks and back, prevent the appearance of varicose veins and hemorrhoids, fight venous congestion in the pelvis. Regular walks improve uteroplacental blood flow, as a result of which the fetus receives more oxygen and nutrients. nine0003
Cross-country skiing
Cross-country skiing can be done regularly in winter as this sport is considered safe. After 24-25 weeks, a supportive maternity bandage must be worn while hiking or skiing.
Walking up stairs
Walking up stairs is also useful for pregnant women. The main condition is not to rush, breathe evenly and calmly.
Swimming
Swimming is perhaps the best sport for pregnant women. Swimming is very beneficial for both mother and baby. Exercises in water unload the spine, strengthen the muscles of the back and chest, massage tissues, improve blood circulation in organs and tissues, swelling and flatulence disappear. In addition, swimming eliminates the possibility of overheating, dehydration and trauma to the woman, as well as excessive stress on the joints. Swimming is a great way to keep your body in good shape and a great opportunity to get it in order after the baby is born. Water is an excellent shock absorber, allowing you to optimally distribute the load on the body during any type of movement. You can just stay on the water, walk in the water, swim, do water aerobics for pregnant women. In fitness centers, there are special water aerobics programs for expectant mothers under the guidance of instructors. The only points that you need to remember when going to the pool are that the swimsuit must be well-sized, not squeeze the stomach, you must definitely take a bottle of clean drinking water with you to replenish the liquid after class, and evaluate the cleanliness of the pool in which classes are held swimming. nine0003
Yoga
Yoga is also an excellent exercise option during pregnancy. Almost all of its varieties are suitable for this, but it is still better, especially for beginners, to practice yoga specially adapted for pregnant women, under the guidance of an experienced instructor. Such yoga will not harm either mother or baby, it does not have inverted poses and exercises that must be performed while lying on your back. Another argument in favor of yoga is that during the exercises a lot of time is devoted to breathing and relaxation. This has a very beneficial effect on the development of the baby (proper breathing improves blood circulation and he receives more oxygen), and also prepares the mother for childbirth. nine0003
Pregnancy exercises
There are several options for specially designed pregnancy exercises. It is thought out taking into account all the physiologies and needs of pregnant women. Exercises in these complexes are aimed at strengthening the cardiovascular and respiratory systems, the muscles that are involved in the process of childbirth - at strengthening the abdominals and pelvic floor. Gymnastics for pregnant women has a positive effect on maintaining posture and strengthening the spine. You can do gymnastics for pregnant women at home on your own, picking up the main exercises from special magazines or from the Internet. Many fitness clubs create special groups for expectant mothers. In the group, pregnant women do physical exercises under the guidance of experienced instructors who will show the necessary exercises, point out possible mistakes, and in addition, while working in a group, women can communicate with other expectant mothers. In fitness clubs, classes for pregnant women are also carried out using inflatable sports balls - fitballs. Fitball exercises are also aimed at strengthening the back muscles, preparing the muscles and ligaments that are directly or indirectly involved in the process of childbirth, and improving the blood supply to organs and tissues. nine0003
Pilates
Pilates is encouraged during pregnancy. It helps not only to strengthen the muscles actively involved in childbirth, in particular the muscles of the pelvic floor, but also to master the skills of proper breathing and relaxation. These skills will come in handy during childbirth to reduce pain during contractions.
In the first trimester of pregnancy fitness helps to fight mild toxicosis, pain in the lumbar region that occurs with the pressure of the growing uterus, helps to normalize bowel function. During this period, all organs and systems of the baby are laid down and its connection with the mother's body is still weak; Since during this period the need for oxygen in the body tissues increases, and the expectant mother is often worried about toxicosis or increased sensitivity to odors, it is best to pay more attention to calm walking or skiing during this period and not to visit the stuffy fitness club halls with their special aromas. nine0003
The second trimester of pregnancy is considered the most favorable for exercise. In the second trimester of pregnancy, the active formation of the placenta and the “mother-fetus” circulation occurs, the pressure of the uterus on the vessels increases, which leads to edema and the appearance of varicose veins. Placental hormones are included in the metabolism, which enhance the growth of the uterus and mammary glands, an increase in the abdomen leads to a change in posture, and flattening of the foot is possible. Playing sports in the second trimester of pregnancy helps to maintain the flexibility and mobility of the joints, and is also the prevention of varicose veins and edema. In the second trimester, it is recommended to do gymnastics for pregnant women, Pilates and especially swimming. Swimming, like no other sport, helps to “unload” the spine and for some time feel your body the way it was before pregnancy. nine0003
In the third trimester there is an increase in the uterus, the load on the heart increases, diaphragmatic breathing is difficult, venous outflow from the legs and small pelvis worsens, the load on the spine and arch of the foot increases. Classes during this period are aimed at improving blood circulation in all organs and systems. The overall load must be reduced. Relaxation exercises are important. Swimming also brings significant benefits during this period.

What to pay attention to when doing sports
At the initial stage the duration of training should not exceed 20-30 minutes per day . Over time, subject to good tolerance, this duration can be increased to an hour. In this case, the load should increase smoothly and gradually. After a workout, a pregnant woman should not feel tired.
For sports, you must choose comfortable, quality shoes and loose cotton clothing . Overheating must be avoided. The room in which classes are held should be well ventilated, it should not be hot and stuffy.
Naturally, during sports, the expectant mother should carefully listen to her body , and in the later stages, to the motor activity of the fetus during exercise and after they are completed. If this activity decreases, then physical activity is excessive and needs to be adjusted, in addition, this is an occasion to seek advice from a doctor. nine0003
If intense pain in the abdomen occurs during exercise, spotting is a reason to immediately stop exercising and seek urgent medical attention . If, after exercise, headache, dizziness constantly appear, swelling increases, or there is bloody discharge from the genital tract, it is necessary to stop exercising and consult a doctor observing pregnancy. The reason for the consultation should be any manifestation of ill health. nine0003
When going in for sports, one must remember that it should bring only pleasure. Only in this case, it will benefit the expectant mother and her baby.

There is a special classification of hobbies, which divides all hobbies into: active and passive. It should not be thought that an active hobby is not suitable for women who are carrying a child. Many ladies do yoga and aqua aerobics, visit the pool or special fitness classes until the very birth. However, studies show that most pregnant women choose passive activities for themselves. Most often, creativity in its various manifestations becomes the main hobby during pregnancy. The choice of hobby in this direction is truly limitless. These are the visual arts, and literature, and cinema, and music, and needlework, and modeling, and collecting. Among the huge number of exciting activities, it is quite easy to get lost. But it is precisely the great variety that allows the expectant mother to find something to her liking - a hobby that will not only brighten up her leisure time, but also benefit her baby. A fertile occupation during pregnancy and maternity leave can be the development of new skills that will be useful to a woman in later life. So what can you do while pregnant? nine0003
Decoupage
A hobby that allows you to fully express your individuality, join the world of man-made beauty. What is decoupage? Translated from French, this word means the verb "cut".
Decoupage is an unusual way of decorating objects based on gluing (cut out of paper or table napkins) various images and ornaments.
Using this unique technique, you can create things of stunning beauty. Decoupage allows you to turn nondescript objects into works of art and give old things a second life. You can learn the decoupage technique on your own using the Internet. On specialized sites, interested women will be able to find step-by-step decoupage master classes. It offers classes for beginners in schools of creativity. nine0003
Interior design
Many women mistakenly think that design art is only available to the elite. Nothing like this. Many world-famous designers do not have a special education. They are "self-taught". In this high art, the main thing is the ability to feel the style. And this skill is akin to an innate talent. What could be more interesting than self-designing the interior of a children's room for an unborn child? Creating an original design is a very interesting creative process. nine0003
Scrapbooking
A type of needlework that consists in making and designing all kinds of albums - personal, family and, of course, children's. This is an ideal hobby for romantic natures. And it is difficult to find a more romantic-minded person than a woman expecting a child. In addition to albums, this technique allows you to design photo frames, postcards, booklets, books, etc. On scrapbooking, as well as on decoupage, you can do well by selling your works via the Internet or in another way. nine0003
Simple scrapbooking techniques are easy to learn. For beginner craftswomen, ready-made schemes have been developed. Having acquired simple scrapbooking skills, you can move on to more complex ones.
Expectant mother during her maternity leave will be able to make and decorate with her own hands not only a frame for a photo of a newborn, but also a unique album called "Birth of a Baby". No one will have another album like this.
Drawing
One of the most affordable types of hobbies. Hobbies for free people, a unique opportunity to realize their hidden creative abilities. Today on sale there is absolutely everything you need for this hobby. nine0003
You can learn how to draw in any genre in courses, in art studios or on your own, using video tutorials on the Internet. Drawing allows pregnant women to correct their psychological state. Not without reason in psychology there is a special direction, which is called "art therapy" - treatment with art. You can try yourself in a variety of genres. There are special drawing lessons on the Internet with oil or watercolor paints, pencils, charcoal, ink, etc. nine0003
You can apply a drawing not only on canvas, paper or cardboard, but also paint fabrics, glass surfaces, ceramic products. The Internet allows you to join one of the modern types of fine art. For example, to computer graphics.
Water aerobics
A type of physical activity that eliminates stress on internal organs. As a rule, aqua aerobics classes for pregnant women are designed for any level of physical fitness.
This hobby allows women to use the body of water to prepare for childbirth. Specially designed programs help pregnant women train their muscles, maintain the elasticity of the pelvic floor, teach them to breathe and relax properly. Aqua aerobics lowers stress hormone levels and improves bonding between baby and mom.
Photo
Today every creative person can master the art of photography. After all, many of us have smartphones. Do not think that a beautiful photo can only be taken with an expensive camera. Even the availability of the most modern and “fancy” photographic equipment does not guarantee high quality photographs. You can create unique pictures using the usual "soap box". Photography is a very exciting hobby. Modern smartphones have the “Your silhouette” function, thanks to which the expectant mother can independently create a memorable photo collage on the theme “My baby in the tummy”. The so-called self-portrait in profile. The process of expecting a baby is very exciting. And it will be great if the memories captured on film remain about him. By the way, the ability to photograph is very useful when the baby is born. In addition, photography can bring a good additional income to a young mother. nine0003
Dancing
As you know, movement means health and life. Dancing is a very useful hobby during pregnancy. After all, physical activity allows you to improve metabolic processes, strengthen the muscles of the pelvis, increase ventilation of the lungs.
Medical statistics convincingly proves that dancing during pregnancy significantly reduces the number of injuries and ruptures during childbirth. For pregnant women, many different dance programs have been developed. Therefore, expectant mothers will be able to choose activities that suit their taste and temperament. For example, during pregnancy, you can learn to dance flamenco or get carried away with salsa. nine0003
Baby knitting
A very useful and exciting hobby. However, many women for some reason believe that it is impossible to knit during pregnancy. Indeed, such a superstition exists, but it has no basis in itself. There are no medical contraindications to this type of activity. On the contrary, doctors unanimously talk about the benefits of knitting while carrying a baby. This hobby helps pregnant women relax and calm down. Of course, you need to knit without fanaticism and not bring yourself to fatigue. While knitting, you need to set the lighting well, sit in a comfortable and most relaxed position. Among other things, this exciting activity allows you to significantly save the family budget. Learn to knit will help specialized sites and courses for needlewomen. nine0003
Read
Maternity leave is an ideal time for self-education. Finally, a woman frees up time "for herself beloved." She can read - and it's great! But what to read? – this question requires reflection.
- If a woman just wants to enjoy reading, fiction can be recommended to her. Namely, the classical works of A.P. Chekhov, I.A. Bunina, I.S. Turgenev, L.N. Tolstoy.
- If she wants to read to an unborn baby, you can advise her fairy tales and entertaining stories of such children's authors as: Korney Chukovsky, Nikolai Nosov, Sergei Mikhalkov, Vladimir Vorobyov. "Kids in the tummy" will clearly like the poems of Agnia Barto, Samuil Marshak. nine0006
- Prepare for the birth of a child will help. For example: Grantley Dick-Read's book Childbirth Without Fear.
- You can feel like a spoiled beauty by leafing through glossy magazines and fashion magazines.
- Many pediatricians recommend paying attention to books for future parents. For example: the book of William and Martha Sears "Your baby from birth to 2 years old", I. Bauer "Life without diapers", Zh. Tsaregradskaya "Child from conception to a year."
And what about those who have poor eyesight? Is this hobby not for them? Nothing like that - they will replace traditional literature with audio books for pregnant women. nine0003
Needlework - making dolls
Today on the Internet you can find exciting workshops on creating original dolls from all kinds of natural materials. There are many different techniques for creating puppets. The Tilda style is especially popular with women. A characteristic feature of the Tilda interior dolls are dotted eyes and pink cheeks. Many women like simple techniques for making dolls from ordinary cardboard. No less popular is the technique of creating "folk" dolls. This hobby allows not only to fully reveal your creative potential, but also to create original toys for the unborn child. nine0003
Learning foreign languages
A very useful hobby that allows expectant mothers to become real polyglots. On the Internet, users are presented with a mass of mobile applications and courses for learning English, German, French, Spanish and other languages. Why not incorporate these activities into your daily schedule? Knowledge of languages is a huge plus when applying for any job. So why not use maternity leave to the benefit of the expectant mother! nine0003
Putting your spouse under house arrest will not work, and it is not necessary. His activity outside the home is necessary both for the financial support of the family and for maintaining his mental health (a person cannot have only responsibilities, he must also have entertainment). All this, of course, is great, but what should a future mother do at home?
Waiting for a baby, especially in the last months of pregnancy after going on maternity leave, can really become a bit boring and tiring. Physical fatigue from pregnancy has already accumulated, the desire to see the baby as soon as possible, to start caring for him, makes itself felt. It seems that you have already redone everything, the tummy is “so big”, which means that the baby has been raised, and the last weeks of calm make you toil and think that you are kind of messing around. A painful condition and fears of being alone at home can torment a woman at the beginning of pregnancy, especially if she is on sick leave or on vacation. nine0003
Let's not "cheat" ourselves, give in to sad thoughts, but rather think about what we can do with ourselves. Have you ever dreamed of not working, in your life there were no thoughts about how great it would be to stay at home? After all, then ... Further, raising his eyes to the clouds, there is a listing of all his most-most cherished dreams of a free and happy life. And now, when there is an opportunity to relax and do what you want, why do tears and sorrows begin?
Remember where you would like to go, what you never managed to see, who you haven’t seen for a long time, what you really want to buy, etc. In the meantime, I will list some “home entertainment” that you can do while you are on sick leave or maternity leave:
- do household chores slowly;
- equip the children's room;
- keep "Album of pregnancy";
- go shopping;
- attend cultural events;
- knit and embroider;
- meet friends;
- listen to music;
- read new and re-read old favorite books;
- be creative;
- just allow yourself to rest;
- attend a school for expectant mothers; nine0006
- take walks;
- meditate;
- engage in visualization;
- after all, sometimes just do nothing.
Household chores
Let's start with the most obvious - household chores. "Good fun!" - you say. However, let's discuss it. There are household chores that we can’t run away from, so it’s worth taking time for them. Serious loads for the expectant mother are prohibited (lifting weights, prolonged standing or sitting, frequent torso bending, etc.). Ask loved ones (mother, spouse, mother-in-law) to take on difficult household duties in your position. But leave simple things that do not cause discomfort to yourself (ironing things, washing dishes, dismantling the closet, wiping dust, etc.). By the way, many women like to put things in order in the closet. Firstly, after such a showdown, everything is very nice and smooth (but often not for long) on the shelves, and secondly, in a large closet you can find forgotten, “lost”, favorite things. Positive emotions arise no less than when a treasure is discovered! So have fun! nine0003
Children's room
When, if not now, is it better to arrange a children's room?! Perhaps you planned to carry out a small renovation and come up with a design for the room. Order furniture and buy children's accessories.
The most pleasant thing about all this is looking at pictures and photos of children's rooms on the Internet and shopping for children's goods. This is what you leave for yourself. But it is better to delegate communication with repairmen to your spouse. Firstly, you should not be nervous, and secondly, the husband should also take part in the arrangement so as not to feel out of work (children's affairs). nine0003
Pregnancy Album
Keep Pregnancy Album. Such an album can be made independently or bought ready-made in a bookstore. Usually, in finished albums, the main place is given to an already born baby (a photo of how it develops, what it can do, how it gains weight and height, etc.), so it doesn’t suit us very well. Of course, such a book is necessary and useful, it is almost impossible to remember the first cooing and turning of the baby years later (and this may come in handy). But we need a bigger album, and perhaps you will come across a more complete version of the book, where a place will be given not only to the first year of a baby's life, but also to his prenatal (before birth) life. nine0003
What will you record there? Everything-everything-everything related to pregnancy, your feelings, sensations, communication with the baby. What did you talk to him about and how did he listen to you, what did you eat and how did he react to it, what kind of actions does he like and what does not, and how do you understand each other.
For example:
“Today we went to the Tchaikovsky Concert Hall for the first time for a piano concert. The kid was active at first, but almost fell asleep with the first chords. nine0003
“Today we read fairy tales. It seemed to me that the kid liked this pastime, because as soon as I finished reading and got up, he began to toss and turn and kick, as if asking me to continue reading.
Place your photos in the album according to the months of your pregnancy. Years later, both of you will be very pleased and interesting to look at your pregnancy book.
After the baby is born, continue to illustrate each new month of his life with photographs.
Why do you need a Pregnancy Album?
- This book gives you the opportunity to have a more complete picture of the well-being and condition of your own child even before his birth.
- If necessary, you can always tell your doctor or psychologist about the behavior of the baby, since you have all the records at hand (sometimes this is important).
- Throughout your pregnancy, it will be interesting to read about how your thoughts and feelings change during the different months of childbearing. nineFor 9 months of pregnancy and keeping such a kind of diary, you will learn to understand and feel each other even before birth, which will be very useful both in childbirth and in the future life together with the baby.
Shopping
Most women love shopping, so do not deny yourself this pleasure now. So many things to buy for a newborn! Clothes, bottles and pacifiers, the first first aid kit, the first toys, diapers and blankets, swimwear and more. Visiting a children's goods store is always a positive experience. The main thing is to stop in time. Buy only the things you need. For sure, after the birth of the baby, they will make a lot of gifts, and you simply won’t have time to vilify all this beauty, as the kids grow up very quickly. nine0003
Don't forget about yourself. The expectant mother should not only feel comfortable and comfortable in clothes, but also look beautiful. A woman is always a woman. Therefore, buy only special things for expectant mothers, they will help you solve both problems at once.
Cultural events
It is believed that you can instill in your baby a taste for beauty already during pregnancy by attending cultural events. Whether this is really so, it is definitely impossible to say, since so far none of the children and adults have told us about how interesting he was in the Tretyakov Gallery, when he was still in his mother's tummy. But your positive emotions from cultural pastime will definitely affect the baby in the best way. That is why remember where you wanted to go, but did not have time. Exhibitions, museums, galleries, shows... Ask your friends for advice. Check the posters on the Internet and be sure to include attendance at such events in your schedule. nine0003
This also includes theater visits. Choose from both children's and adult performances. The only condition is that you should not watch “heavy” works yet. "Going out" should bring lightness, joy, positive, and not leave a heavy aftertaste.
Choose a comfortable time for travel when there is no crowd in the subway or there are no big traffic jams if you are traveling by car.
Knitting
Some women love to knit. Do not refuse this useful activity during pregnancy:
- Firstly, you will be able to knit beautiful blouses, panties and booties for your baby. Clothing of own production has many advantages, and one of them is the lack of analogues. Your baby will be the sole owner of your masterpiece. Of course, you can knit for yourself and for your beloved spouse, but knitting for your own child allows you to think about him more often, establishing a connection with him;
- secondly, knitting gives an amazing relaxing effect. Monotonous actions and rhythmic tapping of the spokes against each other practically introduce a woman into a state of light trance, so calming and pleasant. Do not deprive yourself of all these pleasures if you love and know how to knit. nine0006
I would also like to say something about embroidery. A beautiful panel made by your hands can decorate a room. A quiet activity will help put your thoughts in order.
Meeting friends
Pregnancy is not a reason to abandon all your friends and girlfriends. Meet your friends. Such meetings will allow you to “go out into the world” and show off your tummy, gossip and learn news from the lives of your friends, distract yourself from your negative thoughts and cheer you up, and even complain a little - criticizing your own husband is completely painless for him. Solid benefits! Make sure to take advantage of this! nine0003
Try to avoid crowded places during the height of a viral infection (influenza, SARS).
Listening to music
Do you remember about music therapy? Make your baby pleasant and useful - take time every day to listen to calm classics. Sometimes home concerts can be replaced by the live sound of some piano performances. Let me remind you that it is best for a child to listen to the works of Mozart, which both soothe and create favorable conditions for the development of the child. nine0003
In addition to classical music, stock up on a music CD with slow and soothing music to which you can relax well and quickly. Learn to relax to these melodies until the last days of pregnancy, and then take the player with this disc with you to the hospital. The ability to relax will be of additional help to you in labor (apart from the techniques and positions taught in the birth preparation courses), as the ability to relax plays an important role in the first stage of labor.
Reading
Finally, there is time to read quietly. Get out books and magazines on pregnancy, childbirth, newborn care, which you probably already bought, but still could not start reading. Often expectant mothers talk about such a problem. But now you can safely surrender to the process of reading. This helpful reading will help you better understand what your upcoming birth and care of your baby is like, relieve "I can't" and "I don't know" anxiety
artistic works. Now you have a lot of free time that you can spend on reading new and re-reading favorite works. It is better to choose those that bring you self-confidence and an optimistic attitude in order to be recharged with positive energy. nine0003
If there is something you want to read, but you don't understand what exactly, choose a book that describes someone's biography. The Lives of Wonderful People (WRL) series will provide you with a wealth of great and instructive stories that your baby will begin to join already in the womb. Let him get acquainted with great people and their lives.
Creativity
Creative activities will bring you great pleasure and benefit. Discovering your creative side can have a positive impact on the development of the baby. I see no reason not to take this free time! nine0003
- Drawing will help you express your own emotions on a piece of paper and even understand yourself a little better. Choose for this paint or oil pastel crayons. With paints it is easier to “pour out” your mood, anxieties and fears onto paper, and with crayons it is easy and pleasant to slide along the album sheet, revealing your abilities and inner secrets.
- Photography can be very exciting and rewarding. The photo is your view of everything. This is a vision, "catching" and "appropriating" the beautiful. These are useful walks in the fresh air in anticipation of a cool shot. Persuaded? nine0006
- Keeping track of your own weight during pregnancy, prescribing special diets from your doctor can push you to be creative in cooking. Experimenting with healthy products, the need to diversify the diet, the desire to surprise her husband with an unusual dinner - all this contributes to the creative development of a woman and takes a lot of free time.
- Ikebana, or arrangement of bouquets and arrangements of flowers and other materials, is a joy for many women. Blades of grass, acorns, flowers, spikelets, cones, bark and other natural materials collected on walks can be dried first. After that, you can give them a new life in any composition that pleases the eye or has a special meaning. nine0006
Creativity not only allows a person to create something outside (picture, sculpture, composition), but also contributes to self-knowledge.
Schools for expectant mothers
During pregnancy it is useful to attend classes at schools for expectant mothers. Special gymnastics, breathing techniques, preparing a woman for childbirth, learning to care for a baby - you will be told about all this in the courses.
Don't forget about fitness, yoga, swimming, which we mentioned earlier. nine0003
Walking
Walking in the open air is not only the physical activity necessary for a pregnant woman and the satisfaction of an increased need for oxygen.
Communication with nature relaxes and calms the expectant mother. The rapid passage of time, the vanity and tension of the city recede when trees and ponds are around. When nothing irritates, everything around is harmonious, native and safe, a person merges with nature and "goes into himself." This rest in silence in the bosom of nature is very useful. Arrange yourself such unloading more often. nine0003
Meditation
Meditation has become very popular. They are essential for mental and physical health. We should also pay attention to this.
Meditation is a special trance state that allows you to relax, improve yourself, get to know this world and yourself in it. Meditation invites you to let go of all thoughts and just be in the "here and now" without experiencing tension and struggle.
You shouldn't even fight the thoughts "swarming" in your head and preventing you from relaxing. It's best to just watch them until they slow down and calm down. nine0003
To enter this state, you can use any aids that help you take a break from reality. This can be watching a fire (a fire, a candle), staying by the water (noise and flickering of water), relaxing breathing (exhalation is somewhat longer than inhalation), monotonous reading of a prayer, and other methods.
You can choose your own individual version of such classes or use information received from other sources (books, yoga instructor, etc.). nine0003
The state of peace and harmony that a meditator strives for is very useful for a future mother, as it brings good health and a positive mental attitude to both.
Visualization
I propose to allocate time for pleasant rest and dreams. Get into visualization. Such an activity just seems useless. In fact, it brings wonderful results.
Visualization is the mental representation of visual images, seeing yourself in situations that have not yet happened, but which you want to resolve in a successful way for yourself; this is the design of the desired (dreams, goals) in the form of a vivid mental image, repeated many times. nine0003
This method works due to the fact that our brain does not distinguish between the actual situation and the situation created by our imagination. For him, what you imagine, and especially what you imagine often, is reality. Vividly, in detail, constantly imagine what you want, and it will begin to be fulfilled. Of course, if you put some effort into it.
Visualization classes help to model future events. They require, on the one hand, bodily relaxation, on the other hand, concentration of attention on the desired situation. Make it a rule to give such exercises 10-15 minutes once or twice a day (if desired, you can do more). nine0003
Sit down (you can lie down, walk, stand), relax and mentally plunge into the desired result of your actions. You can imagine the successful completion of childbirth, your family walking in the park with a stroller, the future successes of the baby, the joy of communicating with him, etc. Do not forget that these images should evoke a positive reaction in you.
Usually, striving for some goal, we do the opposite. We take real actions to achieve it, but at the same time we constantly think about how bad and unsuccessful everything is for us. We paint negative pictures in our heads. Maybe that's why many people can't achieve what they want? nine0003
Just "doing nothing"
"Relaxers" and "sloths" - an amazing activity for a pregnant lady. Of course, if she does not do this all the time, from morning to evening, all 280 days in a row.
Now you are doing the important and difficult work of raising and bearing a baby. You have to love yourself and take good care of yourself. That is why, be sure to allow yourself to be lazy sometimes, lie in bed, sleep longer, it’s nice to mess around. Give it a special time. This will help you not feel guilty about doing nothing and relax with pleasure. nine0003
Expecting a baby is a wonderful period in a woman's life. However, many future mothers, in order to preserve the life growing inside, have to change their usual way of life and refuse to work from the very first months of pregnancy. Once in this situation, women often complain that they do not know what to do at home during pregnancy.
If you are one of them, here are some ideas for what you can do during your pregnancy to make the most of the coming months.
Hobbies for expectant mothers
It doesn't matter what a pregnant woman does in her free time - the main thing is that such a hobby evokes only positive emotions in her, then there will be no time left to get upset over trifles. A great option for expectant mothers is exciting travel. However, financial difficulties and poor health are often the reason for abandoning such a hobby. And then the woman is forced to think about what to do during pregnancy at home. In this case, it would be nice to start learning foreign languages, because it is not only fun and interesting, but also useful. Having thus increased your level of self-education, after the decree it will be possible to apply for a higher position. nine0003
Needlework will help you get rid of the blues and put your thoughts in order. This is something that any pregnant woman can do at home. Knitting, embroidery, weaving, decoupage - today there are so many handmade areas that everyone can find something to their liking. Doctors recommend women in position to get involved in music, especially classical. This is the right way to harmony and peace of mind. In addition, such a hobby, according to experts, will positively affect the formation of the character of the baby. nine0003
This is not a complete list of what a pregnant woman can do at home. Ladies in position also prefer to read, create culinary masterpieces, and master the art of photography.
The main rule when choosing an occupation for a pregnant woman is ease. After all, if it brings negative emotions, they are transmitted to the unborn child. Below are the main activities that can evoke positive emotions.
Shopping during pregnancy
The first option during pregnancy is shopping If possible, you should definitely do it. The main thing is not to overwork and not carry heavy packages. At the moment, there are a lot of stores where unusual children's things are presented. This is a real paradise for pregnant women. However, many expectant mothers adhere to the superstition that you can’t buy anything before the baby is born. But this is not a reason to forget about shopping. After all, you can choose clothes for yourself. Go shopping for pregnant women, try on fashionable outfits, and a lot of fun is guaranteed. The main thing is to wear comfortable shoes for expectant mothers so that there is no extra load. You should take something to eat with you, as the expectant mother cannot starve. nine0003
What else to do during pregnancy?
Show creativity. If you have a craving for drawing since childhood, then you should buy paints, brushes and draw! Perhaps, during pregnancy, a new look will open. If a pregnant woman is a fan of writing poetry, she should write a couple of poems for her unborn child. When he grows up, he will be pleased to read them.
A wonderful activity - photography
Take beautiful pictures, capture everything around. In addition, you can take a picture of your stomach in different angles and terms. Be sure to get beautiful photos of future motherhood. They will be the first in the children's album. nine0003
The question “what to do on maternity leave?” immediately disappears for sports fans. Now there are many fitness clubs for pregnant women. If your personal doctor allows, you should definitely sign up for such a circle. Reading during pregnancy
Who loves to read, they have a lot of time to read. one should read books about illnesses, about childhood illnesses and deviances. This greatly affects the condition of a woman, even if she does not notice it.0003
During pregnancy, you can start decorating the nursery
This is a very useful activity during pregnancy, and it brings a lot of pleasure. The advantage is that having arrived from the hospital, you will not need to rack your brains about what and where to put. Everything will be ready.
It will also be exciting and rewarding to create an album of your pregnancy. For example, start keeping a diary, where all the thoughts, achievements, feelings and events of a pregnant woman during the intrauterine development of the crumbs will be entered. Note when the baby first moved, collect ultrasound scans, and any objects and photographs that are related to pregnancy. Indeed, over the years, this album will become a wonderful warm memory not only for the expectant mother. nine0113
Great interest in decoupage is shown not only by pregnant women, but by all women. Decoupage is applied to vases, materials and other surfaces. There are many tutorials on the net. In anticipation of the baby, the expectant mother can decorate a changing table or chest of drawers with diapers in this way.
Soap making during pregnancy
Natural sedative - soap making. Pregnant women should cook their soap from natural ingredients so that chemical additives do not affect the body. nine0003
It is very useful to communicate with pregnant women. You can share experiences, fears and much more. Talk to your baby as much as possible. Starting from the 18th week of pregnancy, he hears everything.
If there is not much time left before the birth of the child, and the expectant mother has not yet gone to courses for expectant mothers, you should take a moment and attend a shortened program designed for several days. Something new for sure.
Fitness and dancing
You can do fitness, dancing for pregnant women. It's never too late to learn. Maybe a woman has always wanted to more accurately master cooking, foreign languages - pregnancy is a great time for this. And, of course, we should not forget about museums, theaters, various exhibitions and ordinary walks in parks or squares. They must be every day. If the weather is good, you can walk longer. And if it's cold, don't stay at home. It is better to dress warmly and take a walk. Of course, in cold weather, walks should be short. In winter, you should try not to inhale the cold air, and in summer, walk in the evenings when the heat subsides. nine0003
When it's time to go on maternity leave, the usual way of life changes dramatically. The woman will have to spend about two months, doing practically nothing, until the long-awaited baby is born. How to diversify the leisure of a pregnant woman? What to do on maternity leave while waiting for the birth of a baby?
Someone spends this time with benefit, is engaged in self-development or solves issues related to preparations for the appearance of a baby in the family. For example, visits an online store of branded toys or children's furniture. But if the expectant mother is losing her nerves or she does not know what to do in her free hours, it's time to have some fun. nine0003
The best entertainment for pregnant women
It has long been proven and verified that swimming with dolphins during pregnancy has a beneficial effect on the condition of expectant mothers. According to the opinions of pregnant women who experienced the effect of swimming with dolphins, this gave them pleasant, unforgettable sensations and a positive emotional mood for a long time.
If the dolphins are too far from the location of the pregnant woman, then regular swimming in the pool is possible and affordable. Just because, for yourself, or under the guidance of an instructor, during classes water aerobics for pregnant women .
Classes in the aquatic environment can be replaced by more familiar ones - on gymnastic mats.
Oriental dances, yoga, gymnastics for pregnant women - every woman will find for herself an interesting and useful pastime in the company of the same pot-bellies.
During maternity leave, you can also attend specialized courses for future parents - alone or with your husband.
If you want something exotic, you can arrange an interesting experiment - paint a rounded tummy with henna , it's called mehendi.
And after that you can arrange a photo shoot. It is best to use the services of professional photographers. Commemorative photos in which mom and dad are expecting a baby - what could be better?
Henna can also be perfectly replaced with ordinary gouache paints - let the life of the drawing be short, but the emotions from the process are bright and strong.
If an expectant mother is upset about something, good old shopping will help to distract herself. Of course, it makes no sense to buy new clothes for yourself, except by eye, without trying them on. But here are fashionable accessories or branded shoes at a discount - why not? Such purchases will not be superfluous, and untold pleasure will bring. nine0003
