If you (the parent, guardian, or caregiver) choose to use Uber Car Seat, you are solely responsible for examining the car seat for proper installation and for properly securing the child in the car seat’s harness straps. Children riding with Uber Car Seat must be at least 2 years old (effective 11/1/19, to comply with changes in New York State law) and weigh between 22 and 48 pounds and be between 31 and 52 inches in height. Uber is not responsible or liable for improperly installed car seats or improperly secured children.

How to Request an Uber With a Car Seat for Your Child
- You can easily request an Uber with a car seat for an additional fee.
- You'd simply select the car seat option when you set up your rideshare request on Uber.

Grabbing a rideshare when you have a small child can be complicated. It's not as though you're toting around their carseat if you don't usually travel by car, especially if you live in or visit New York City.
But there are times when it's necessary. If you want to use Uber in New York City, you do have the option to get an UberX vehicle with a forward-facing car seat, for a $10 fee.
Also, your child must:
- Be at least two years old;
- Weigh 22 to 47 pounds;
- Measure 31 to 51 inches tall.
You should also know that cars are only equipped with one car seat, so if you need more than one, you'll have to look elsewhere for a safe ride to your destination. But for those with a single child in need of a car seat, as long as they meet those requirements, you should be good to go.

Compare taxi services: Yandex Go, Uber, inDriver or DiDi?
Today Yandex Go, Uber, inDriver and DiDi operate in Kazakhstan. In this experiment, we will look at how they differ, what prices are at rush hour, and how convenient and safe the service of each of them is.

Yandex.Taxi
Yandex.Taxi entered the market of Kazakhstan in July 2016. At the same time, Uber appeared, and a year later, Yandex and Uber signed a business combination agreement.
Now the Yandex Go application provides services for ordering food, delivering things and tracking public transport. You can also call a courier to the door, a minivan or a truck. Yandex.Taxi works with taxi companies.
If we talk about the taxi service, before ordering, Yandex calculates the travel time, taking into account traffic jams. There is a choice between classes: "Economy", "Comfort", "Comfort +" and "Business". You can link a bank card for payment, but if you cancel the call when the driver is almost there, the cost of the minimum trip is automatically debited from the card.
I compared the cost of travel (for a distance of 7 kilometers) in different applications at different times.
The price of Yandex Go off-peak hours is 700-750 tenge. And during peak hours and bad weather - up to 2,200 tenge. In my case, the taxi drivers completed the order on time and always followed the route suggested by the service. Once, when the driver could not take me to my destination due to problems with the car, the support service contacted me an hour later, apologizing for the incident and giving me a promo code for 400 tenge. In general, they were polite, punctual and adequate.
Pros: application is convenient because it saves past addresses and determines the current location. You can also indicate that you need a car with air conditioning or a child seat, order a second car while the first one is driving, or choose one taxi for two destinations. For the safety of users, you can share the route with another person and add trusted contact numbers. In case of an emergency, there is a button to call the police or an ambulance.
Cons: high prices and their unjustified growth during peak hours. Economy class cars are often old, with a strong smell of gasoline inside. Moreover, in Yandex Go, sometimes it is not possible to call a taxi if you want to pay in cash, despite the fact that this option is declared.
Uber
Uber was launched in San Francisco in 2009, and appeared in Kazakhstan only in 2016. In 2017, after merging with Yandex. Taxi, the service continued to work, but its functionality became more similar to Yandex Go. Now Uber works with both individuals and taxi companies.
Before the trip, Uber shows how long the trip will take and offers four classes of cars: UberX - a regular car, Select - comfortable, Black - business class and Van - up to six people. If you link a bank card to Yandex Go, it is automatically linked to Uber as well. When you launch the application, three directions are offered for quick access: your last two locations and Almaty Airport.
Judging by my experiment, despite the fact that Yandex and Uber are similar, the prices of the latter are lower. In normal times, a trip of 7 kilometers costs 650 tenge, and at rush hour the price rises, but it is always cheaper by 20-100 tenge than Yandex Go - about 2,000 tenge.
Pros: in the application you can leave comments for the driver before the trip or order a taxi for someone else. As in Yandex Go, you can choose one taxi for two destinations or order a second one while the first order is being processed. For safety reasons, you can share the route with your family.
Cons: In my experience, there may be slight errors with your location, so it's best to check where you order a taxi from. There is also a lot of news and negative reviews on the Internet about rudeness, incompetence and deceit on the part of drivers.
inDriver
InDriver, an international company based in Russia, entered the Kazakhstan market at the end of 2014. Unlike other taxi services, inDriver works on an agreement system between drivers and passengers. The passenger offers his price, and the driver can agree or offer another. Anyone can register as a driver and take orders. This service is also given the opportunity to order a taxi between cities. By choosing door-to-door points, you can offer your price, specify the desired departure time, or negotiate with the driver who has already left a request in the application.
The service offers two tariffs - "Standard" and "Comfort". InDriver does not have a centralized payment system, so it can be made in cash or through a transfer to a Kaspi Bank card. You can also call a courier delivery or a truck.
Pros: cheap compared to Yandex Go or Uber. For example, for a distance of 7 kilometers at rush hour, I was taken for 1400-1500 tenge. And for safety, the service offers a button to call the police and the ability to share the details of the trip with your loved ones.
Cons: ordering this taxi service twice, I was not satisfied twice. The first time I was embarrassed by the loud music in the car, the driver smoking and the very poor condition of the car. During the second time, the driver was browsing the feed on social networks while driving, from which we almost got into an accident and were delayed on the road. Also, there were forced stops along the way to give those who were “catching” a taxi a lift, and there was a strong smell of gasoline in the cabin. Also, the application does not build a route along which you need to go, which is inconvenient for both the driver and the passenger.
DiDi
Another taxi service, DiDi, has appeared in Kazakhstan this year. The Chinese company entered the market, saying that it only works with taxi companies. The service also provides car sharing, food delivery, bike and car rental, and freight transport.
There are two tariffs in the application: "Economy" and "Comfort". Payment can be made by card, but the final price will be visible only at the end of the trip. The service uses 2GIS maps and shows the current location during the trip.
Pros: The service offers a 30% discount on the first trip. It is worth noting that even without the discount, DiDi prices are lower than those of other companies during peak hours. A trip for a distance of 7 km costs 1300-1500 tenge, and in normal times - 600-700 tenge. For safety, the numbers of drivers and passengers remain anonymous. Moreover, you can send information about your trip to a loved one or use the SOS button.
Cons: App doesn't show approximate travel time until you get in a taxi. Also, DiDi cannot determine the exact geolocation. The waiting time for the order is slightly longer than other services. On the Internet, users also often complain that drivers cancel orders and do not deliver to their destination, and technical support does not respond and does not return money.

We tell you how taxis with car seats actually work in Kyiv. We analyzed the reviews of parents in the group "Kyiv friendly to fathers and children" and checked some of them on our own experience.

Bolt Taxi Service recently introduced the option to order a taxi with a car seat. To use the service, you need to select the Kids category when ordering a taxi. During the test period, the cost of a taxi with a car seat is the same as when ordering a standard Bolt category.
The function is still being tested, and some users note that it does not always work: “You order (a car) and they immediately give you the driver closest to you. But, as it turned out, the system does not recognize cars in which there are chairs and which are not. Therefore, they will give you a car, but whether there is a chair or not, only the driver will tell.”
But there is also a positive experience: “Today my daughter (3.5 years old) used the Kids option. The car arrived quickly, in 5 minutes. The cost is reasonable, lower than Uber. The child seat is fully functional - on the platform, with lateral support and headrest adjustment.
BZ journalists also tested a new option from Bolt. In the first case, it was not possible to order a car with a car seat - there were no cars in our area and the Kids function was inactive. In the second case, everything worked - within 5 minutes a car arrived with a brand new seat, and for a distance of 2.3 km only 29UAH
Bolt BZ noted that while the number of cars with car seats in Kyiv is limited: "In case of difficulties with ordering this category, you can contact Bolt support. The service is in test mode. "
How to order? The Uklon app now has the ability to indicate that you are traveling with a child and you need a car with a car seat (“Traveling with a child” function). In total, according to company managers, at the time of the launch, drivers had a thousand car seats, and they planned to purchase another 500 car seats and 1,000 boosters. The company also stated that the cost of a trip with a car seat would be +30 UAH. But users note that the function does not always work, and the price when choosing the “Food with a child” function increases to 80 or more hryvnia, depending on the mileage.
Uklon is the leader among all Kyiv taxi services in terms of negative feedback from parents who order cars with car seats:
“Yesterday we tried to call a car with a seat for almost an hour, all orders were cancelled. Finally the car arrived. But no chair. The driver didn't know at all. For the trip they took off, as with a chair. Wrote - the money was returned. But the system is not working yet,” one of the users writes.
There are a lot of similar reviews in parent groups: most often, according to parents, after choosing the “Traveling with a child” function, the driver calls you and asks if you are ready to go without a car seat, since it is not in the car. This question sometimes arises at the time of car delivery. If you agree (at the risk of safety, the driver is ready to take on a possible fine for driving without a car seat), the application still charges you additional money. After complaints, they are usually returned.
Uklon co-founder Sergiy Smus said that the option “I'm traveling with a child” is temporary. In March, the company plans to create a separate “Children's” class, which will include only those drivers who have car seats.

Taxi Bond asked drivers who have car seats to install their own. For the rest, the company bought chairs and provided them for use. The cost of a trip with a car seat is standard - +50 UAH. According to the company, it is also possible to call a taxi with two car seats, but there are fewer such cars. Three car seats can be ordered together with the minivan function.
According to parents, this taxi service is one of the most reliable, a car with a seat is almost always available and quite quickly. But there are also negative experiences. “Today a taxi arrived with a booster for a child, although I ordered with a car seat of the first category,” writes one of the users.
Journalist BZ also tested the taxi "Bond" - a car with a car seat was found quickly, and for a trip within 2.3 km had to pay 87 hryvnia.
How to order: select the “Transportation of a child” function in the services, the age of the child must be indicated in the comments years (22-36 kg). In the driver's profile, you can see in the photo what special equipment he has installed.
Cars of this service are equipped with either car seats or boosters - what exactly is installed in a particular car can be found in the driver's profile. For a trip with a car seat, an additional 35 UAH is charged.
Reviews about OnTaxi are mostly positive - it takes about 5-10 minutes to find a car, except that you have to increase the tariff during rush hour. True, if you are traveling with your own booster, you should indicate this in the comments - otherwise a taxi with an already installed car seat may arrive.

Parents' comments about this taxi are still few, among them there are both positive and negative. Some write that they ordered White Cab twice, a day and an hour before the trip, and everything went well: SMS came 40 minutes and 10 minutes before delivery, a car arrived with a new Chicco booster. Another user complains that she ordered a taxi with a car seat, but a car with a booster arrived.

Baby transfer position themselves as a baby taxi. When pre-ordering, it is possible to choose a chair for a child. Baby transfer also has a taxi with two car seats, a taxi for babies and a function to accompany the child. All the nuances of the trip must be clarified with the operator at the stage of formation of the application, in particular, indicate the age of the child.
According to the company's website, the machines are equipped with baby water with a dispenser, still water for the attendant, dry and wet wipes, disposable diapers and individually wrapped diapers. Also in the car there are toys, children's magazines and books.
The price of the trip depends on the distance. But users note that the cost of Baby transfer is higher than the average cost of other taxis. At the same time, parents call this service one of the most reliable for traveling with children.

This service positions itself as a taxi that transports only women and children. All cars have car seats, for which you do not need to pay extra. All service drivers are women.
There is a babysitting service - the driver will accompany the child to school, kindergarten or club. But only a woman can ride in such a taxi with a child, men will be denied an order.
At the very beginning, you could order Pink Taxi only by phone, but since March the website and application have been launched (payment is only in cash). Free cars are also often not enough. In the first week of Pink Taxi's operation, the Vector editors ordered a car 3 times at different times and on different days, but each time there were no free taxis. There were only 18 cars in the fleet of this service, and they physically did not have time to serve all orders.
But already about a month after the launch, the situation changed - according to the reviews in the group "Kiev is friendly to fathers and children", it is now much easier to call PinkTaxi: “I travel with them and with two children.
