2 Begin a wash cycle. The child lock function can only be enabled with a wash cycle in progress.
3 Press and hold the
[Child Lock] button for 3 to 5 seconds.4 Once enabled, a
“CL” message will appear on your display panel to notify you that the “Child Lock” function is on.

Once enabled, the child lock feature will remain on at the end of the cycle, even when the machine is powered off. If child lock is enabled, you will not be able to start your machine until the child lock feature is turned off.
5 To turn off child lock, make sure your machine is powered on and then hold the
[Child Lock] button for 3 to 5 seconds.If your washer does NOT have a child lock button

Hi @crbc
Turn on the power to the machine and then press and hold the Rinse + Spin buttons (both together) for 3 seconds to either activate or deactivate the Control Lock feature.

Press and hold the soil level button for 3 seconds during the wash cycle to disable the child lock.
Here's the section from the user manual that explains how to enable and disable the feature.

None of the above worked, probably because my panel is different.
Then I noticed on my LG the Half Load and Energy Saver had an note below them: Control Lock.
I pressed both simultaneously and the frustrating CL was cleared.

This worked on my LG model, which has a similar control panel to yours:
For front-loading washer dryer combo “Inverter Direct Drive True Balance” LG model #WM3499H*A:
1) Once LG machine is powered ON:
2) Go to the right touch-screen panel, press and hold “Pre-wash + Delay wash” buttons simultaneously for 3-5 seconds.
This will turn OFF the CL (control lock/child lock). You’ll hear a little jingle when the function is processed.
3) Similarly, pressing this combo simultaneously again for 3-5seconds will turn back ON the CL .

It is well known that child lock on LG washing machine is not uncommon.
It is difficult to find a model of an LG machine that would not be equipped with this useful feature. Meanwhile, there are housewives who do not know how to turn on child protection and how to turn it off later. It is for them that we have published this article. We hope it will be useful.
How does blocking work?
If you decide to try a child lock on your LG washing machine, you first need to understand how it works. Based on the name of the function, the child lock during washing locks the control panel of the machine by pressing a key combination. Setting and removing the child lock
Anyone can set and then remove the child lock. To do this, press two buttons on the control panel at the same time after turning on the washing program. What are these buttons? You can look right now at the control panel of your LG washing machine and find two buttons: super rinse and pre.
Usually they are accompanied by a drawing of a smiling lock. On different models of LG washing machines, these buttons may be located in different places.
You can see these buttons below the LG washing machine display. They will be located vertically, the “super rinse” button is on top, below the “preliminary”.
