A thousand hoorays that summer’s here! I think it’s safe to say that we all enjoy the summer months. But sometimes with the arrival of summer, comes a swarm of to-do’s and irrational mama pressure to jam-pack as many things into the next 3 months as humanly possible. So we decided what was needed at the very beginning was a little reminder to be kind to ourselves this summer. Yes, kind. No guilt. No shame. No requirements. Summer doesn’t have to look any one way.
So as you coast into these summer months, look for ways to be especially kind to YOU. Not in a selfish way, but in a give-yourself-a-break way. Maybe that means not hosting the entire neighborhood for a Pin-worthy backyard barbecue. Maybe that means simplifying and inviting just a few friends for an impromptu potluck dinner — complete with paper plates and disposable cutlery. Or maybe what you need this summer is to give yourself a firm talking to about swimsuit kindness. (Stop the comparison hamster wheel for starters.)
Honestly, the kids probably won’t remember what you were wearing or how fancy the table looked. All they’ll hold on to is the memories. And that’s just as it should be.
Let’s clothe ourselves in kindness and soak up the season! Click play to join us.
