Spring Break is coming. Like the Highwayman riding — riding — riding. Getting closer and closer. Maybe it’s happening right now. Or next week. But for those of you who have school aged children, you know that soon-to-be-here panic. That anxious feeling of: Oh no. I’m not ready for bickering and whining. I just got over the Winter Break Blues.
Yes, it’s that time of year again. Where our family calendar goes all wonky. The regular schedule goes out the window, and chaos comes in gleefully, kicking up its heels as it parades through the front door.
Gone are our good intentions to keep our cool. Forgotten are all those verses memorized on taming the tongue.
We say goodbye to our New Year’s resolution to not lose it quite so often with our kids, and say hello to Mean Mama. And it makes us sad to be that Mean Ol’ Mama. We don’t like it. Our kids don’t like it. And we know God doesn’t like it.
And so… We pray. We cling. And we petition our Father for PEACE to once again reign over our homes.
Care to join us in prayer?
PS – This prayer may be used at any time. The application doesn’t just have to be Spring Break.
Hugs for your day…
