General tips

For an easy start, choose two children (age 10 or younger), two young women, and one young man.
Follow the instructions the first time you play the game. This is a great way to quickly introduce you to the basics of the game.
The game continues to work even when you are not playing. If you plan on not playing for a while, consider switching the speed to slow or pause.
Nursing mothers will not work for two years.
Women aged 18 to 50 can become breastfeeding mothers.
Children aged 2 to 14 will not work, but they are the only ones who can pick mushrooms, stew flowers, and collect items.
Be sure to pay attention to the weather. When it rains, the mushroom will spawn more often, and when it's foggy, collectibles will spawn more often.
When a foundation for a hut appears, you can pick it up and move it to another location.
You need to have at least 250 food in the trash can so that the villagers don't have to worry about food and continue to complete their tasks.
If you run the tutorial, it will show you how to start a fire.
To start a fire, throw an adult on a pile of wood that is climbing up the rock to the left of the stairs. Then throw the adult onto the dry grass that is between the wood pile and the stairs. Finally, throw an adult onto a black circle with a tree and grass on it.

You can pause the game at any time by pressing the space bar.
This guide has been designed to help you solve puzzles as quickly as possible. Don't be afraid to try more complex combinations of villagers to start with.

Puzzle 1: cutting tool

Head to the large fish skeleton south of the trash can.
Throw an adult on the skeleton and they will collect three bones and heat them up in a fire.

After making the cutting tools, they will store them in the science lab.
Three cutting tools are created during each process.
The science lab can store up to six cutting tools.

Puzzle 2: Flow

Head towards the cascading waterfall.
Pay close attention to where this ends.
Look for the flow obstruction to the left of the wind grooves and drag the villager onto it so they can start clearing it.

You can use more than one inhabitant to speed up the process.
Once the obstacle is removed, the water will surround the tree.
Go to where the waterfall ends and you will find a keystone.

Drag a villager who is both a Builder Adept and an Adept Scholar to the stone, and he will close the hole to the left of the tree, thus restoring the normal flow of the stream.

How to Solve Puzzles 1-16 in Virtual Villages

Getting your villagers to the point where they are self-sufficient is just one part of Virtual Villagers. There are a total of 16 puzzles to be solved to complete the game.

Some of the puzzles make life easier for the villagers, while others just make the island beautiful.

Use these tips to solve puzzles in Virtual Residents, but remember that some of them must be completed for other puzzles to work correctly.

For best results follow these steps:

Puzzle 1 : Well: Ask the builder to remove the cover of the water well by dragging it into the well.

Puzzle 2 : Hut: Build a new hut for the villagers to live in. Requires a peasant who is trained to build.

Puzzle 3 : Beach. Clear the debris on the beach so the villagers can hunt for fish. Just drag the villager to start the purge.

Puzzle 4 : School : Transform the building into a school by dragging the wizard into the building.

Puzzle 5 : Laguna: Ask the builder to remove the blockage from the stream. In order for this to work, the villager needs a level 2 building. Drag the villager to the mountain pile that is blocking the water; the water then flows towards the lagoon.

Puzzle 6 : Fertility Magic Fish: After completing puzzle 5 and getting the level 3 harvester, take the master lagoon fish farmer.

Puzzle 7 : Cemetery: With Spirituality Level 2, find the graveyard. When a villager dies, drag the adult villager to the northeast corner of the island for a proper burial. After the first burial, villagers will automatically perform burials for other villagers who die.

Puzzle 8 : Natural Mastery: Discover herbs by researching 4 specific plants on the island. One of them is a cactus near a boulder, another is near the lagoon, and two are on the east side of the island. Drag a villager onto each plant until each has been mastered.

Puzzle 9 : Garden: Until puzzle 5 is complete, place the village builder where they see dead flowers on the east side of the island. They will need to bring water from the lagoon to revive the garden.

Puzzle 10 : Magic Plant of Life: Do puzzle 14 first and then wait for the butterflies to follow the Golden Child. Then drag the Golden Child to the plant north of the berry bush so the butterflies can pollinate it.

Puzzle 11 : Temple: Restore the temple at the ruins by dragging the villager to the ruins on the southeast side of the island. This requires a level 3 building.

Puzzle 12 : Idol: Reach spirituality level 3 and be sure to complete puzzle 11. Then drag the builder to the rock near the lagoon, on the west side, so that she will push the idol out of the rock for the temple.

Puzzle 13 : Golden Child: After puzzle 5 and 12 are completed and fertility level 3, place the nursing mother in the lagoon. The child will become the Golden Child.

Puzzle 14 : Butterflies: While the previous puzzle is over, place the Golden Child on the magical garden found in Puzzle 9. Butterflies will appear and follow the Golden Child.

Puzzle 15 : Treasure: Discover the buried treasure located south of the food bin, between the bunker and the temple. The key will not be given by simply dragging a villager. You need to place a master builder in order to find cover.
