These weekend features are to remind us of all the INGs of life. The Doing. The Nothing. The Speaking (of the Holy Spirit). The Listening (of our hearts).
GRIEVING & REJOICING
As I was working on writing Monday’s post this last week, I experienced yet an even deeper lesson of perspective. Way beyond luggage. Way beyond learning the fine art of waiting.
A pastor and dear friend lost his earthly battle with cancer, and in exchange, won the eternal prize of seeing Jesus face-to-face. And though we are grieving his loss, we rejoice that he is finally home.
As I contemplate his life – lived out so intentionally, so kindly, so compassionately, for the glory of our Heavenly Father, I am struck by the shallowness of my own thought process; in turn, multiplying my pondering on what is truly important.
Life is so much more than the immediate.
May these ever-changing shifts in our earthly lives open our eyes to the bigger picture. Our smallness. His greatness. And the wonder of His grace.
So when the milk is spilled, the wall sconce broken, the knees on that new pair of jeans totally ruined, and the mama nerves thoroughly rattled, Perspective can make her graceful appearance. And as we peer at life through our eternal telescope, may we see that milk can always be cleaned up, wall sconces fixed, jeans replaced, and nerves healed.
Only the eternal really matters.
May the Lord bless you and keep you as you pursue perspective, keeping your eyes fixed on Him.
Have a great weekend, friends.
