How motivating to keep at the work of training my children because it does matter! I’ve been asking myself the ten year question all week. Sometimes a single thought like that can keep you on the right track! Thank you for writing!

I often find myself looking at reoccurring behaviors and wondering how to effectively address them. After a few years of being a parent now, I’m learning that a lot of it is leaning on God for wisdom. Practically applying is sometimes a season of trial and error too.

I call it the ten-year-rule and I apply it in so many ways but mostly I ask myself that same question your wise friend suggested to you, “What does this look like in ten years if I do nothing about it now?” Sometimes this question helps me not overreact … and other times it gives me confidence in dealing with a situation that seems small now but has potential to become huge if left unchecked.

Thank you for sharing!!
